Re: Not a scrap yard, abandoned in a yard

Like Sie 1970, I too remember this car parked out the front - it doesn't seem that long ago! I drove past it yesterday, looks very down at heel these days.

Re: Trafalgar blue Minor spotted Southend area

Lady owner uses it daily.

There's also an Almond Green traveller with something like 300,000 miles in Denton Avenue and a OEW traveller and Almond Green saloon parked outside the same house in Alexandra Street, plus many others :)

Re: Traveller in Kirby's Car Breakers, Rochford.

I was in there today having a look round and I saw it, nothing seems to have been sold off it yet. Yep they've put it to one side, I imagine it will be there for quite a while before it gets crushed. They have a Humber Sceptre estate and a Talbot Alpine that have both been in the yard about 15 years!

Traveller in Kirby's Car Breakers, Rochford. **GONE**

Just thought I'd mention this in case anyone was interested. I have just weighed in a very rusty 1971 Traveller in Teal Blue at the above yard. Not much left on it but it's still got an engine block, gearbox, back axle, steering wheel, front suspension, wheels, bonnet, back doors, wiper motor and a ...

Austin A35 stolen from Clapham, London.

Hi all, Sadly my old A35 has been stolen from outside the new owner's house. It looks like joyriders at this stage. Can you please circulate the details to anyone you know, and keep your eyes peeled. Please no comments about secret immobilisers, it's easy to be wise in retrospect. I'm absolutely gut...

Re: Modded or standard

Standard every time, the only modifications I've ever done to Minors or A35's are ribbed gearboxes, 1098 clutch and flywheel, radial tyres and temperature gauges!

Re: How local?

Southend, Essex that's where i bought mine from! I know, I saw it on Ebay! Never actually saw it in the flesh though. I was trying to guess from the pictures where it was, I reckon it used to live in the North/South/Central Avenue area of Southchurch? :D Btw I'm 19 years old (20 in Feb) and drive a...

Re: Essex Branch Rally Entry Contact Details

Just seen this, is it happening again this year?

I don't have a roadworthy Minor at the moment, but I'd happily bring along my Austin Cambridge if it's welcome - I'm a regular at the Chelmer Valley Car Meets near SWF.

Re: Minor 1000000 help please.Updated 05/01/11

Looks like the previous owner put the later type front wings on with the larger indicator hole, the earlier ones with the small hole are very hard to find. That is why there's still a bit of a hole under the original sidelights/indicators you've fitted. I agree with you, the original ones are much n...

Re: Not a Minor, but a 1935 Rover stolen from Kettering.

A bit of good news. The car has been found after being advertised on Ebay. The listing was pulled by Ebay after the owner posed as a bidder to view it, found several points that proved it was his car, and reported it. The seller claimed he had bought the car in good faith and has been able to help t...
