Re: Cancelling insurance?

I can very higly recommend RH insurance. When I add my morris minor to my spitfire policy it cost £54, then when I removed it 1 month later I got £53 refunded :) they are so much easier and nicer to deal with from my experience with both companies. RH all the way for me now FJ can take a running jump.

Well I did it ><

Bit the bullet and let Jethro go today, its wierd how one can get attached to something like a car.
I am sad yet happy, happy to see him go to a new custodian who was very nice so no worries about him getting neglected. I do have minime to remind me of him and have fond memories also :)

Re: Does this look like a good buy?

remove the sill covers so you can see inside them they are the bits at the bottom of the door gap and poke underneath really you would want an MOT so you have some degree of confidence but any test is only a snapshot of a car and things can go wrong within weeks. Assuming your in Manchester then pop...

Re: Does this look like a good buy?

Take a fridge magnet and screwdriver with you and check the sills, spring mounts bootwell etc. take it for a drive never buy without driving it, listen to it as you drive windows up and windows down, check the brakes stop the car and that it accellerates and decelerates through the gears with out di...

Re: Buying, owning, running a Minor for eveyday use.

Having run a minor for the past 12 months as my daily driver I can tell you based on my experience. You would not be likeley to lose much if anything when selling it on. You have to keep on top of it, keep the underside protected. They are very easy to work on mechanically and are also very very rel...

Re: Rear springs

I replaced the springs on Jethro last month. to avoid damaging the front bolts keep a nut on the end and tap it out, eventually you will need the nut right off to get it out fully and will probably damage the thread a little. Place the bolt in a vice and recut the thread with a nut if you don't have...

Re: Should I get a morris minor (and how much should I spend)

Oh and since it has note been mentioned in the thread yet. Parts are still wideley available you can get just about anything for these cars be it new old stock, heritage, pattern or second hand. I would say go for it, make sure you see plenty and when viewing always look for a reason to walk way. po...

Re: Should I get a morris minor (and how much should I spend)

I was actually asking if yours was still for sale on the for sale board! I'm not too fussed about the look of the thing and I was worried about the engine size considering I may want to driver back home to Yorkshire every now and again. How much are you asking for yours? Shame the MOT has run out, ...

Re: Heater - 1968, 1098cc Morris

Look at your glove box liners say the passenger one, you should see a hole on the right side if it, no imagine the liner is in the glovebox. the hole is there so you can access the speedo retaining screws, you only need to undoo the screws about 3 turns each side of the speedo and it should enable y...

Re: A few questions, 3 years away from the scene

I have HS4 on mine, was looking some months back to change to HIF44 but the HS4 is doing its job well enough and has caused me no issues at all. I have the breather set up at the timing chain cover with I think standard fan and radiator, the only thing you need to worry about us the fan catching the...

Your friend needs to be complaining to FJ, not so much at the lack of assitance, but any employee calling a customer a "Liar" is not acceptable in any business.
