Re: Braided fuel house

What I did was easy, I went with the old hose to a local hose producer. They used the original fittings for the pump and SU, so I only had to tell which length I needed

Re: Speedometer '51 MM

Mine is an October 1951 MM, from Belgium, with a KPH meter.
This list means, the KPH meter never was original mounted on the first cars, and the rear axle is the reason.
The body number is between 100.000 and 125.000, and I got a spare rear axle with him.
Or was this the original? I don't know.

Re: Speedometer '51 MM

Could be an option, but are they KMH? Or maybe the gearbox part?

Speedometer '51 MM

My original 1951 car has a speedo with the number 70620/3 (KM, 1000), and has a difference in counting. When I am driving 80 kmh on the clock, the real speed is around 60 kmh When I got the car, 2 speedo's were with it, both the same, and also a spare rear axle. Is it possible the spare axle was the...

Re: Series MM headlining

I have a complete triplex headlining, not perfect, but with the option to get him tgether with a machinetransport to Alberta Canada.. I have something to do there next year. The only restriction is the import to canada, because it is wood.... Another option can be to ask a company with a dealership ...

Re: identification Series MM 1951

Mine is the 122061, a LHD, don't know it was a CKD, but does not look like. A little bit younger. He has the same type of numbers, but not the SMM text. The place is correct, and hand stamped is a possible reason for not a straight line. When this part should be re-numbered, it is visible on the bac...

identification Series MM 1951

One of the Dutch club members has an MM with a not complete identification plate. A Nuffield number is there and a chassis number, around 10.000 cars older as my MM. Looks like the car details are correct for that age and number. I start this thread for him, because he is waiting for access on this ...

Re: What would that be?

I checked it on my filters, it looks like 5 mm, but the metric 5 tapped does not go in the nut for more than a few windings.
So it must be the BSF thread , possible 3/16 " ?

Re: Traveller Restoration

When you only need a few parts wood, it can be an option to make it from a tree? I have bought two tree from 3 meters, 35 cm thick from this wood, and know in the Netherlands a lot of the material is available because the need to remove this type of tree this year. I make the wood by myself for an o...

Re: Engine value?

To rebuild my USHM3, pistons, reboring, crankshaft grinding and new bearings , new valves and guides, was in total around 2000 euro, without my own time to build it together. so GBP 1000 is a cheap price I think. The only reason for me to spend the money, was the engine number. It is the original on...

At least he looks like complete.
It is a version with an aftermarket waterpump and sidevalve, when the engine can be turned around, you have a lot of parts ;)

Mine is a '51, so I do not need him.
In that case, who is missing one?
I can get him with me with the next trip to the UK ;)

I found this one in a group of parts...
The top is different to my actual one, he does not have the chrome hinge on top, but a welded hinge.
Is this a 1949 version, or a special one?

As far I know, the window surround is not used in the '51 version.
I have also a '51 and the surround but it was not on the car when I bought him.

Re: Thread sizes

I should like to have a list of sidevalve bolts and nuts, complete with the torque. In the manual from the MM, nothing is written about it. In a post from Mike, I found the head bolts, M10; 44 lb/ft, but the crank shaft bolts are also important. I think this information should be in the topic "...
