Re: Heater Fresh Air Duct Clips
I used the old ones as a template and cut a strip of stainless steel to form new ones. I was working in an engineering works at the time so I had all the tool available to me.

Re: SU Fuel Pump or Hardi replacement?
A lot of questions, I can only help by telling you about my situation. The Original fuel pump on my 53 year old Traveller is still giving me good service. I did replace the points and diaphragm somewhen in the late 1980's.You have to be careful when replacing the whole pump as I believe there are tw...

Re: Spare wheel aperture board
The assembly you have ringed fits behind the lower metal panel behind the rear bumpers and holds the two side assemblies together.

Re: Spare wheel aperture board
Excuse the Mrs in her youth. This is my Traveller in around 1882. I had just fitted green corduroy panel covers. You can see the original cover board. although it may be upside down. It was a piece of hardboard with a folded metal edge on one edge and a finger hole on the other. IMG s1983 mar Large....

Re: Woodwork preservation and front doors
Hi and welcome. It is always good to hear from world wide owners. I have owned my Traveller for 44 years and have replaced the wood twice. My rear doors are now falling apart but the wood on the rest of the body is discoloured but solid. The car has been kept outside all year and used virtually ever...

Re: Front Brake Vibration
Sounds like it could be an oval brake drum. You can get them skimmed but frankly I wouldn't bother. I would (and did) go with the disk brake route. It is not difficult and you will thank yourself in the future.

Re: Beyond saving?
OUCH. It probably looks worse than it is (hopefully). It looks like dried out underseal, I hate the stuff. A whole inner wing can be replaced if you take care and spend a lot of time in the preparation. I wonder how the other side looks. By the time you finish this job you will be a welding expert. ...

Re: Hardening half-shafts
Hi. It was my understanding that half-shafts are already hardened. I know that you should not swop them over from left to right as they get work hardened to whichever way they are turning. We used to case harden components in the factory that I worked in many years ago. I would think it would be cos...

That is what I plan on using but I wondered what the best option for mounting the phone was. I do not like the idea of sticking it to the windscreen so some sort of dash mount seems best.

Re: Importing my Morris Minor to the UK
I received my new V5 registration document today, I was worried that they may have lost my application because it has taken over five weeks to get a reply. The car is now taxed (£0) insured and MOT-ed and I am looking forward to taking her back on the roads again. The whole process, although difficu...

Re: Alternative jack and starting handle
I converted a scissor jack by welding two small lengths of angle iron on the top to make a 'U' shape that fits neatly over the Morris's jacking point. It is quick and won't slip off.

Re: Self Cancelling Indicator Trigger
Just a thought. Whilst everything is apart consider changing the indicator arm to the lest side as in modern cars. I did this years ago after constantly turning the wipers on when signaling left. All you have to do is put the steering column upside down.

Re: Indicator stem bulb brightness
When I started driving back in the mid 70s I fitted a 'Buzzicator' and I had an audible warning when the indicators were werking. I suspect a simple buzzer would be a good substitute these days.

Re: Importing my Morris Minor to the UK
For your information I have filled Form C179B and sent it to HMRC. Received a replay vie eMail stating that no tax was owed. I took the Traveller for an MOT whish she passed. I have now filled in form V55\5 and sent it to DVLA with the original V5, MOT certificate, letter from NOVA (HMRC), copy of m...

Re: Heater control tap - simple solution
I fitted a brass tap after going through several cable valves. I think this is a wonderful solution. You do not need to stop the car and pop the bonnet if it gets cold.
