Hi everyone,
Update: I think I may have found the ring set I'm after, so currently no help needed.
But my thanks to all who read my post, and happy motoring.
Brian.

PIston rings for USHM3
Hi everyone, After 12 years mostly uneventful and reliable motoring... Can anyone help me locate a set of piston rings for my MM (USHM3) please? The reference numbers I've been given by the garage are: 502-13/1G+020. I'm told a single ring might do it but would prefer to have the set if possible. I ...

New wiring for 1949 MM
I'd be grateful for a bit of guidance on replacing the vehicle harness in my 1949 MM. The bits that haven't melted are very crispy! Does anyone know if / where I can buy a harness ready made? I'm still positive earth; should I think about changing? Did I see a tech sheet for this some time ago? Do p...

Re: KDF 285
Thanks for all your replies.
Interesting pic of the interior.
Wrong seats - possibly door pulls as well?
I had a feeling things weren't quite right...
(And is the 'Morris Minor' badge on the side of the bonnet correct for a 1950 MM?)

KDF 285
I expect you Series MM folk know all this already so sincere apols, but it's kept me amused for a bit ... KDF 285 is on the 'Wall of Cars' at the new Riverside Museum Glasgow. I couldn't see it in the MM reigister (so my old eyes prob'ly missed it). I Freedom of Information-ed it. Their Social Histo...

Three cheers for the Science Museum who have replied: "...Morris Minor MM series car, 1950. Chassis no. SMM 46032, engine no. 41550. Registration no. EFE 53 (Inventory number 1979-371). This object is currently on display within the Museum’s Making the Modern World Gallery... I have reviewed Mu...

Chassis number Mike? Well, possibly.

EFE 53
Many of us have spent hours (and cash!) getting MMs motoring again. So, mixed feelings when I saw EFE 53 pinned to the wall of the Science Museum like a stag's head trophy. Better than rusting unseen and unloved in a ditch somewhere I suppose. But it's a real pity you can't get close to see the inte...

Re: Problem potholes ...
Just in case it helps anyone else... I've found the previous guidance.
It's on the MMOC site under 'Technical Tips' ... 'Clunks'.
It lists 23 (!) possible causes of the rattle from the front end - and my money is on number 8.
Thanks again. Happy motoring.

Re: Problem potholes ...
Many thanks for the replies. I've investigated and the near side tie bar /rod rubber bushes are squashed and I can turn each by hand. The rod therefore has a bit of play in it and by knocking it (as suggested) I can get the same clattering noise - so the bushes are my prime suspect for now. (The rod...

Problem potholes ...
Despite trying to be sympathetic to Mr Morris’s needs, some of the increasing number of potholes can’t be avoided. I’ve begun to notice a clattering sound from the front nearside wheel area when going over poor road surface. (It’s fine on a good road and on cornering.) Has anyone else noticed this? ...

Re: Colour of seat piping for 1949 MM?
Firstly, many thanks to you all for help and comment on seat piping. Any chance you could help me again? I have a supplementary question on door pulls. Mr Morris (platinum grey, December 1949) still has the original horizontal pulls. However at some stage they have been wrongly re-covered in green v...

Re: Colour of seat piping for 1949 MM?
Many thanks for this.
Gives me a good idea of what 'beige' should look like!
Maroon piping on your seat - so I think it came from an MM, body colour maroon?
I'm going with brown piping for my platinum grey (Dec '49).
Any other thoughts most welcome.

Colour of seat piping for 1949 MM?
Hi MM Messageboard folks, Thanks for all your help with previous posting re seats. New question. My project is Mr Morris - a 1949 MM (Dec) in platinum grey, LUO 456. I'm fairly confident the seats should be "beige". But what colour for the seat piping? My view is brown? - as per Mr Newell'...

Re: Restoring sv MM (1949). Seats?
Hi Mike and David, Thanks so much for your prompt replies. Not sure if I'm using the message board correctly, so do say! Colour: platinum grey? (MNR/C) Index: LUO 456 ('Mr Morris'). Happy to be included in MM register. Car number: SMM 31593 on plate. (I've cut back the paint - also stamped in chassi...

Restoring sv MM (1949). Seats?
Dear MMOC, I'm impressed with the friendly response questions get on the forum, so here goes ... At long last I've found a lowlight series MM sv (1949) to replace the one I passed my test in (a 1951). I'm trying to get it as original as poss but I expect parts may be difficult tofind. I'm currently ...
