Witter tow bar kit for Morris Minor

I have come across a boxed 'never been opened' Witter tow bar kit for Morris Minor that's 40 years old.
I tow a trailer and have a 'custom' solution fitted but feel the kit may make a better solution
Does anyone have any experience of fitting one?

Rear Door on Saloon

Hi apologies for being off the forum and only coming back with a question.
I'm replacing the rear two doors on a saloon as the bottoms have rotted.
Is there a trick to putting the hinges back in when fitting the new door?
Most grateful if anyone knows.
Hope everyone is well and motoring on

Re: Gear Box Options

Thanks for that tip I have a spare (new) MOWAG diff that has the letters BTA 547 9/38 stamped on the drive ring I suspect it's a 4.22 As I have it and now have a 1098 engine where I once had a 948 should I swap it for the 4.55 that is on the car? Lastly, how much workshop time do you think a swap mi...

Gear Box Options

Just completed an 800 mile trip with my now well-running 1956 split screen saloon. Last year the engine was changed from the original 948 cc to a 1098 cc engine. However,as I had no option at the time, I used the original gear-box. If I want to change (up-cycle) it what options do I have? For exampl...

Re: Unblocking oil ways

AM I Being DUMB (ER)? I've looked for the oil pump prime hex nut and there is not one on my MOWAG block. I've cleaned everything in the sump prior to reassembly and I've noticed something that appears strange. On the oil filter mounting space there is on the passenger side of the engine a blanking p...

Thanks for that - if some idiot had overfilled the oil by 1.5 inches could that make a difference to the overall throughput of oil; to the head?

Re: Unblocking oil ways

As recommended I used the starter motor but nothing happened at the oil feed hole to the cylinder head. However, I filled the hole up with a little oil and there was evidence of some pumping action (bubbles) on spin over so I am ruling out the oil pump at this stage. Before I take the sump off - wou...

Re: Unblocking oil ways

I've been unable to use the Forum or my Morris (that is still in the same state it was before Christmas) so I beg your indulgence to answer the same old question When I turn the crank handle with the head off - no oil comes up the oil way to the head gasket. I've blown compressed air down it - and d...

Apologies for not replying before but funeral events overtook me. However, I completed a trip to Ireland in my moggie (1763 miles with no problem). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlU6GNQByDo Question: if you have compressed a new cylinder head gasket and not gone through a heat cycle - can you use ...

April Fool Gremlin. Advice please.

My birthday is on April 1 and inanimate objects have played as many tricks on me a animate ones. Yesterday was no exception. I was trundling long at 50 MPH when the engine grumphed and humphed and backfired several times- then all Ok for 10 miles or so and a repeat of the misfiring/backfiring which ...
