Was in the boot, but the car was in a half state of disassembly when I got it.

Re: Which Trafalgar blue?
Ah right, thanks. That will do me. Am respraying anyway, so it won't make a difference so long as it's all from the same mix. If there were two mixes, I'd want to choose which one I wanted, but that decision has been made for me! Cheers

^^
That's a very clever solution indeed! Might pirate that for the rear reflectors on my P6. Thanks for sharing.

Re: 1275cc Insurance, MPG, MPH
In the interests of attaining a higher motorway speed (you say, "joining the motorway at 45 mph doesn't sound like much fun") I think it would be wise to add an alternative taller differential to your list. Even with a Rover V8 under the bonnet, you could still only achieve 80 or so top sp...

Re: external sunvisor
My wife thinks we should have a sun visor on Bertie but I imagine it must knock off at least 5 mpg and be quite noisy? What's the verdict on 'em? John The economy impact is always the first thing that comes into my mine. That, and they look ghastly in my opinion. Surely it must narrow your field of...

Fair enough. No offence caused
At least you've got some good options whilst still retaining the slimline look. Looking forward to seeing how your led base plate works out.

Which Trafalgar blue?
I have heard anecdotally that there are various Trafalgar blue shades... all much of a muchness but none quite the same as the other. Is this true? If so, did the shades vary according to year, or plant? Ie, are 1965 Minors different to 1967? Or are all Traflagar Minors the same, but different to al...

Re: rear lights/indicators in a pre '62
hmm... i like that! I do have a boot rack on, though - but could perhaps incorperate a high level light - even a clip-on strip - to that... If you've got a boot rack, you might as well go for a universal high level brake light stuck in the back window. Won't obscure rearward visibility, and is cert...

Re: rear lights/indicators in a pre '62
however, the trafficators would still be working in tandem, and this is the prototypical standard, and therefore i would dispute this by saying that any flashers at all are an improvement... Yes, true. Just a case of being sensible. If you can partition the lens it shouldn't be an issue. Have you t...

Re: rear lights/indicators in a pre '62
I like this idea. As I too like the cleaner look. I assume you're going to put the sidelights in the headlamp lenses? Also use one of those chrome bulbs with the clear sidelights so it doesn't look orange when not flashing? I'm unsure whether you'll get away with the back really. Neat idea, but it m...

Better than a really naff reflector in appearance![frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1395825313_18245 [/frame] My thoughts exactly! Although I think I'd rather have the reflector and convert it to a high level brake light. But shows the flexibility of what you can achieve with a bit of side...

Re: How might this have been made?
Hi, The material used for that casting was, in all likelihood Mazak (Zamak elsewhere than in the UK) a zinc based alloy which was subsequently Chromium plated, or painted. Lots of car brightwork was produced from this material. We used to call it "monkey metal", probably due to us resenti...

Re: How might this have been made?
There were two types of bonnet mascot/handle made. The later ones were a single-piece chrome casting with the background to the "m" logo being red paint. The earlier ones were again a chrome casting but with two removable "medallions" each with the "m" logo having a re...

How might this have been made?
http://www.cartype.com/pics/375/full/m-morris.jpg I infinitely prefer the rounded art deco typeface of this M logo to the serif font used in the steering wheel badge. But I can't work out how this badge has been made. The only place I know of it appearing is the bonnet mascot, which is a single cas...

Re: Steering wheel position
All other factors aside, could a dished 3-spoke banjo wheel (early M1000 etc) be fitted with the spokes at 6 o'clock and still feel the same? I can't seem to work out if the dish is offset? If you roll the steering wheel through its full travel, does the rake of it change when it's upside down? From...

Re: Servo and Peddle box
I have heard lots of complaints about EBC, especially dust. There is no inherent inadequacy with EBC's 'colour stuff' brake pads. The problem is that they don't make the small print big enough! Their pads are Kevlar-based, which generate excessive gasses and fine dust under friction. This forms eit...
