Re: TV classic cars

What annoyed me about the e-type was the sunroof, they should have got rid of it. Looked awful. And then the 30K price tag which i personally thought was by no means realistic. I think by the repairing of a 'piston' they meant the carb piston as they got in a stress when they put too much oil in the...

Re: Rough Running and Dodgy Speedo

Thanks for the replies :)

Turns out the rough running was due to a failed spark plug. Fitted a new set and away she went. Nice and simple.

The speedo oddly seems to be behaving most of the time, well is relatively useable.

Re: Rough Running and Dodgy Speedo

Thanks for the replies. Will check the plugs and ignition in general and report back :) Will also look at the speedo cable, it was new around 2 months ago so thats why i didn't think of it. Also when i took it out of the back of the speedo, the speedo remained at around 20mph with the needle 'sticki...

Rough Running and Dodgy Speedo

Hi all, So yesterday was the pickup's MOT day, and all i can say is, i really don't think the old girl wanted one! Haha. Got her out the garage, and shortly after taking her out she started spluttering under acceleration. i tried the choke as i suspected fuel starvation but this didn't seem to do mu...

Re: Restoration Project 1952 4 d Saloon in Finland

I wouldn't go drilling holes just yet. Getting the hockeys sticks on mine (and i believe most others) was a right pig of a job, but with a bit of brute force they lined up and look good now.

When i did a recent halfords search to find some, it said in the description of a compressor oil that it was a SAE40 equivalent.

Re: How local?

JSimons, I work at Exeter Uni and live in Exeter. If ever you need a hand with anything just ask. Best regards, Tom Tom, Many thanks, I don't actually drive them down here as it's a harsh journey for the 800 lump and the pickup is a bit impractical. But if i'm around on a cheeky trip down then i'll...

Re: no more MOT for pre 60 cars

I wonder if testers will still carry out an 'off-the-record' test at an owners discretion?

Re: Pickup Interior

Steve, Thanks for the reply. I found our heritage certificate last night stating that indeed the interior should be 'brown' I can get brown carpet and brown seat covers from ESM, but they only sell the black door cards. Not sure whether the colour combo will work, but can't see brown and black as be...

Pickup Interior

Hi all, We are having our pickup resprayed at the moment and would like to put an original style interior in it. The interior that was in it when we got it can be seen in the picture.
