Front and rear steering dampers

How necessary is it to top these up and what fluid do you use,the handbook mentions having to remove the rear one to fill it,sounds a difficult job,is it necessary.Should I go to a Morris mechanic to get it done.Ive no idea when the levels were last checked as I’ve only had the car 3 years and as it...

Ignition light

Driving back 50 miles from getting my brakes repaired I was almost home when the ignition light came on.I stopped to check the fan belt hadn't broken,it was intact but because the engine was hot I didn't check the tension. As I revved up the light became brighter, for the last mile home it came on and...

Re: Quarter lights

Well after 2 afternoons I managed it by wedging the door with 3 thick beams of wood and a wedge so I could put a lot of downward pressure on the quarterlight,we had to file away some of the rubber where the pivot goes in or it would have been impossible.I had to leave the hinge unscrewed from the wi...

I've just bought a 1959 convertible the same year as a saloon I owned until recently, the indicator stalk when you turn right almost touches my knee,I see there is a bend in it,the question is can this be swivelled as looking at the car I sold yesterday the stalk should be at 3 o'clock where as mine ...

Re: Convertible hood problems

I've tried to take a picture but it's not very clear, you can definitely get a finger in the gap above the interior mirror, there is no foam at all under the vinyl.I think it's a trip to Charles Wares to get a new hood put on properly sending the bill to the garage I bought the convertible from who ma...
