Re: rear spring shackles

Whilst overhauling the suspension on my 1966 2 door saloon I would like to replace the shackle pins (and eyebolt pins) using UNF items as recommended. I'm having some trouble finding a supplier for these pins although there is plenty of choice for the BSF types, and at least one supplier for UNF tru...

Re: SU carb spindles with seal

Anybody tried these teflon bushes? http://www.moss-europe.co.uk/shop-by-model/morris/minor/fuel-system-induction-controls/carburettors/carburettors-su-hs2-type.html The bushes are Part No. AUD3079, item 43 on the Moss diagram. The spindle bore has to be reamered out (8mm) to take the bushes, but onc...

Re: First Time Engine Rebuild

Edd,
Well done indeed!
I've followed the ups and downs of your rebuild with interest and admiration, and have learned much I didn't know previously.
This has been an example of the forum at its best.
Peter.

Re: Is this the correct brake pipe?

ESM offer a copper/nickel full pipe set, Part number CBS100, at £49.80. They also sell many of the pipes singly, for example: http://www.morrisminorspares.com/brakes-c42/brake-system-c43/brake-pipe-3-way-union-to-l-h-front-hose-copper-nickel-brass-unions-p829379 It's interesting that the copper/nick...

I came across this article recently and would be interested to hear what the forum thinks of the conclusions on staggering the gaps.

Re: Bullet holes

In the 60's I ran my first car (1937 Rover 12, cost me a tenner) on Jet petrol. It was cheaper than National, Regent, Mobil etc. My rear window sticker proudly proclaimed "This vehicle is JET propelled". Wish I still had the car (and the sticker)!

Re: Quotable Minor Quotes

Variation on last quote: Having taken a pair of wheels to my local tyre depot for tyre renewal the fitter asked what car they were off. Told him '66 Minor 1000. He said he thought he had been conceived in one of those. Told him it had nothing to do with me; think he believed me!

Re: Rear Hub Bearing Nut
