I have a number of MM speedos, and could look to see whether there is one with a different code on the speedo face,
in case you wanted to try another code/ratio.

Paul, you are probably well-sorted by now re this fitment, but I have one here in Melbourne if you need parts of it!

Re: Rear Hub Nut Spanner
I possess the discussed 1 and 7/8th inch hub-nut item in the form of a tube spanner.
Again, it is in Australia, and seemingly, I am unlikely to need to use it again in my lifetime.

Re: Front suspension- is this right?
I agree that I have never seen the laterally-threaded top trunnion pin arrangement on a surviving MM either! Amazing that it was still in service. I've come across some bronze trunnions over the years, but never that earliest style still fitted to a car. When exactly was it dropped/changed by the Fa...

Re: valve cotters
You will have moved on from this need, but I thought the cotters were just stuck into place with a little grease, while you take the tension off the spring/lower the valve cap. BTW, did you overcome the need for re-hardened tappet bolts? I have quite a few worn/indented ones here, in Melbourne, Aust...

Where are you located? I have a stripped pair of front seat frames from an MM, but am located in Melbourne, Australia.

I could well have a spare MM steering-column if you need it, with brass contact-ring intact. Located Melbourne.

Re: MM Quarterlight Repair
As to setting the new quarterlight glasses/panes in place with black silicone, I have had that done by the windscreen fitter on my last two M1000s, the 2nd one just last week. On both cars the technique worked well. While still wet, you clamp the window shut and ensure that any twists in the frame a...

Re: Splitscreen fitting
Mark Attard, if you still need that windscreen centre-pillar rear strip, with 4 holes for female screws, plus the mounting for the rear-view mirror, I have several here in Melbourne and it'd be easy/light to post. Strips for even earlier Series MM cars did not have the boss to mount the rear-view mi...

Re: MM Quarterlight Repair
Do the pivot-pins at least (holding the swivel-catches) differ from the standard M1000 ones?
I have a few of the pins, and I thought they are available still, and in a chromed condition....... Re-working an existing steel q'light frame sounds to me the most feasible way to go.

Re: steering column horn contact set
Mark, I have sent photos of the loose items you need re the horn to Frank Mallia, as there are some parts he wishes to have too. Hope he can forward. The brass contact ring for the horn is crimped and soldered onto the column, and the rubber bush you will need to purchase new from UK suppliers. If y...

Re: steering column horn contact set
I have a 1951 MM Tourer wreck here in Melbourne that I am about to chop-up, as it is too badly rusted. What parts from the steering column do you need? Truly, I was about to angle-grind through the column as I cannot readily shift the top nut (holding the steering-wheel) due to rust. If you wish, I ...

Try these of the early Lowlight door-tops and a single pass-side vent window-frame that I have come across.
I have sent these photos and some others direct to Harry T.

Re: MM Quarterlight Repair
Spike, I now have discovered (on a Series MM wreck I bought) a Passenger-side vent-window frame in plain steel, still fitted with a broad-spaced chrome hinge (pin part). The locking latch chrome-lever is snapped, but the spot-welded mount on the frame is intact. It is however rusted somewhat at the ...

Re: MM Quarterlight Repair
Hi Spike, We may be drawing a blank, as the plain steel Minor q'light frames (stored under my house) prove to be for the Driver's side. Maybe the plain steel frame with the suitable hinge spacing could be converted? I have two types of stainless frame for the passenger side: am unsure what model Mor...

Re: Fitting glove box liner on '57 saloon
While trying to best seal the wheelbox fitting from rain + runoff from the windscreen, I also varnish the outer top of the raw cardboard to give it some water resistance. Has worked well.

Re: Fitting glove box liner on '57 saloon
Do not think I have ever seen a workshop-manual diagram dealing with the cardboard glovebox inserts. Your new one may suit a later car, which had a fitting at middle-speedo-height either side to take a stay for the glovebox lid. There was also a bent steel angle piece (similar to two opposite arms o...

Re: MM Quarterlight Repair
I could have a sound quarterlight window-frame here in plain steel, probably from a Series MM, which you could then get chromed.
You do not say which side you need though.

Re: 1952 MM Innition Warning Bulb - Lucas 970
Can you post any sort of pic of one, even from the Workshop Manual?
I may have one here, as I have had a lot of such parts out of cars which were dismantled.
