Also check the boot seal, there are 2 types, the earlier version was the best at sealing any gaps, https://www.morrisminorspares.com/body-inc-panels-trim-c21/bootlid-fittings-c23/boot-lid-sealing-rubber-pre-chassis-number-705328-1959-fits-to-body-not-bootlid-p828025 You may need to adjust the lock t...

Since buying a multi tool, I can’t believe how useful they really are and have used it on many occasions to get out of a tight spot.

Re: Some Damper Questions....

Didn’t want to sound harsh Berni, just that from my own experience of working with dampers, if they run dry then the seals will fail. I would remove the rears and make a jig to bolt the damper to and place it in a vice to prevent damaging the casing. This will allow you to remove the drain plug and ...

Re: Some Damper Questions....

If the dampers are low on oil when you inspect them then I would expect them to leak when you refill them. The seals don’t appreciate being dry.

Re: Cars For Sale bit

As said before the reason no comments could be added to For Sale ads was simply due to posters adding their own opinions to the ads, I do remember it getting quite heated occasionally and adverts were removed as the posters took offence. This forum will always be the font of all knowledge as there h...

On Tuesday you said the plugs were dark and sooty, if fuel was getting to the cylinders then I would expect them to be wet? Sounds like a blockage to me in the carb.

This prompted my memory of seeing what could be the same car at the Manchester Bus Museum back in 2014, I took some photos, it was a stunning car.

Re: Who's had the Covid vaccine? Anyone going to refuse it?

Had my jab a week ago felt RAF for about 3 days after, washed me out and felt achy. After the 3rd day came around and now feel fine. Interesting to see the European countries with a low take up of the vaccine seem now to be paying the price for it with a 3rd wave. Our figures show the vaccine appear...

The club needs to bite the bullet and invest in a better platform. They need to be forward thinking and not just implement a short term fix. It’s been talked about for years.

Re: Brake bleed order?

With respect to the learned, why would you want to jack the car to some strange angle to bleed the brakes and leave it overnight with the brake pedal depressed? They wouldn’t do this if you took the car to a garage :o If the brakes have had a full overhaul the best place to start is at the front dri...

I remember driving over the M62 one year in February to the Manchester Bus Museum rally from Leeds, the car never got warmed up. Plus you have now fitted a heavy duty battery which will take longer to charge. Perhaps you could explain/expand on this, please? ‘Cos I disagree - unless discharged to a degree of capacity more than the lighter duty battery! I, too, lost a posting yesterday morning (turned off computer too quickly...
