Re: Speedo is miles out
thanks guys ill keep my eye out for one! i forgot to say i have 15" miniltes and 175/65 tyres on but they work out as only 5mm larger in diameter than the original wheels so i guess its really irrelevant. Phil i have to say you're spot on, its a joy to drive, all gears are slick and that quicks...

Re: Speedo is miles out
sorry fellas been busy, yes it is indeed the type E ford box (4 speed early version of the type 9) and the axle is out of an RS2000, the speed around 40 reads as 30 but as you increase the speed it is out more, 60 is around 45 and 70 is around 50, so it must be the tpm being wrong, so if i get a dif...

Speedo is miles out
hello there, its been in for a while but iv just dealt with it, but my 1408 tpm speedo is at least 10mph slow now that i have a type E gearbox and a 3.89 diff, i thought a 1408 would have been close to correct? it always read a little over 2/3 mph when i had the original 4.22 diff in, what other spe...

Re: HIF44 confusion
It's only an 1 1/2" lcb exhast the one esm do, so not overly large, would I still need to get a mild cam? I was thinking about it but my dad recons it'll make it a bit crap in lower revs. Panky, that makes a lot of sense thinking about it, I assume it's not use able then unless I make that plat...

HIF44 confusion
Hello guys, I've got myself a hif44 and I can't make sense of how to fit it, it's like the throttle body is reversed or something, and I bought the fitting plate (abutment plate?) And that doesn't seem to work with it either! Is it off a weird car? Cheers

Re: type 3 gearbox?

Re: type 3 gearbox?
i dont do tonnes of fast speeds mostly 40-50, i intend to fit a 4 speed box either type E 'rocket' or type 3 if it works with the fitting kit, i know the type e is a tougher box im only asking cos a guy near me has 2 type 3's for sale.
