Re: Sudden loss of power when engine warm
could it be a leak in the fuel line that only occurs due to the vibrations of the car moving? or else, the fuel pump may be getting stuck as heat causes things to expand..

Re: how to wire up new electrics?
sorry. i have done it by attaching to an empty terminal and to the body of the car. it works fine only when ign is on and i have changed the fuse to the right wire. i have to say that although my lack of knowledge may be frustrating to you it is the reason this forum is here and i am only really ask...

Re: whining noise... have a feeling it might be the differential
drained the diff this morning - there wasn't a lot there, but then re filled it with EP90. noise is still present will check gearbox now but last time i tried it it was full. this noise has persisted for ages and i've only just got round to putting the diff oil in -.-

Re: how to wire up new electrics?
i really don't understand why you seem to think that wiring straight to the battery is a problem. it's basically the same principle as using a terminal.

whining noise... have a feeling it might be the differential
...but i have absolutely no idea! that's just a wild guess... it's weird, it appears up until about 37 mph then goes a bit quieter until 50 when it is noticeable again. any ideas?

Re: how to wire up new electrics?
it's running straight to the battery, and there is an inline fuse. in fact i fitted two. i just wanted to know why my terminals weren't giving any power, but it doesn't matter any more, i'm happy with the way i've done it, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. thankyou anyway.
