Re: water pump lubrication

This makes getting grease in there that little bit more difficult, I can make assumptions as to why they did it,but wondered if anyone knew the thread size, 1/8" bsp perhaps? Can anyone please answer part of the original question above What thread size are the grease nipples? I shall suss the ...

Re: water pump lubrication

If it's 'ultrasonic' you won't be able to hear anything............ Good point Roy, but what it does is listen for ultrasonic noises only, I forget the exact frequency range but basically all moving parts give off ultrasonic noise, which as you say we cant hear, the unit then heterodynes the...

Re: Stainless Steel sills for 2 door

I supply engineering parts on a very regular basis as part of my lot in life. It is worth noting the dispatcher of parts has to insure to the value of the parts which drives the carriage charge up,the supplier can then increase his carriage costs or take the hit himself reducing his profit margin, o...

Re: water pump lubrication

Thanks Roy, interestingly Ive just picked up some parts for a service and the local Morris dealer said exactly the same. What set me on the track was the noise from said pump was louder than anything else I could hear, it is worth mentioning though I was (just for fun) using an ultrasonic touch prob...

Re: How many Minors can you count?

Puts me in mind of a film available on dvd called the straight story.
Alvin Strait decides to visit his brother-interstate and his only form of transport is a John Deere lawnmower, well worth a watch, a gentle film.

water pump lubrication

At some stage in the Minors evolution Mr Morris or his entourage took away the grease nipple that resides between the bearings in the water pump and replaced it with a cap head screw. This makes getting grease in there that little bit more difficult, I can make assumptions as to why they did it,but ...

Re: Water Pump Woes

Can I ask fellas is it better to use grease or oil on the water pump?
As a screw is attached for said lubrication I assumed it would be oil, mine is an original water pump with the screwdriver slot screw fitted.

Re: amateur radio operators

Tush Clare! I shall now await their reply with even more interest, I wonder why the preference is to avoid home addresses when the statement is made that it must be a location easy to find?(somewhere like a home address is easy to find) Thanks for the info though, perhaps I should now consider a loc...

Re: amateur radio operators

The planning would be not too great a problem Clare as the intention would be to run from home where antennas rigs etc are already well established. One station may be a start, unless volunteers appear as a result of publicity through the journals already mentioned. And M5XYZ (EX YOUNG ZULU) WHAT A ...

Re: amateur radio operators

Well I've taken the liberty of asking the RSGB if they would have a record of his callsign, use of said or a derivative would make a handsome contribution to the MMOC I think, with perhaps a special station on the air to commemorate special occasions, offering special qsl cards or certificates for c...
