Well it looks as though I am on my own then, I don't have a gearbox extension that would be suitable for a lhd conversion so this seemed the logical solution unless there are any other thoughts. I realise I can just buy a hydraulic clutch kit so this might be the answer.

Has anybody done a 'diy' hydraulic clutch conversion, if so what cylinders etc. were used. Shortly going to do a RHD to LHD conversion and hydraulic seems the simple answer as far as the clutch is concerned.

You say you have 'changed' the head. Is the replacement definitely a 1098, if its a 948 head you will have about a 6:1 compression ratio without skimming.

On our 4 door the front door width is 78cms (just under 30.75"). This is the door width not the opening which is the 78 + door gaps!

PLEASE convert the car to negative earth if fitting auxillary bits and pieces. It is a minefield trying to isolate radios etc. There are plenty of past threads showing the 'easy way' to do it.

Quick question, will the rocker gear off a 948 head go onto a 1098 head. At long last going to put the 12G202 head (after skimming) onto our 948 but I only have the bare head, no rocker gear. Also what about manifolds?

Thanks for the comments - will be sticking with SU's, at least I know them! Seemed a good idea at the time to go modern but if I wanted to do that why would I be running a Minor

Got to change or overhaul the SU pump, have change points in the past and diaphram but has anybody fitted one of these modern replacements like the HUCO pump and if so are there any problems. They seem to come in at around £44.00 and if they are any good seems the best way to go.
