Re: Clutch fork gaiter
Firstly you do not have a Morris Minor gearbox casing fitted. The standard Morris Minor gearbox casing does not have the two threaded holes which are there to mount a hydraulic slave cylinder for operating the clutch release arm. The aperture in the bell housing for the release lever may be compromi...

Re: Crank rear oil seal
There is no machining needed with fitting the crankshaft rear lip seal but I would steer well clear of fitting a crank rear (lip) seal. Unless the flywheel mounting flange is perfectly smooth or you have fitted a speedy seal sleeve the lip seal may well be torn to shreds very soon after you have sta...

Re: What wheel bearings are these?
The Dowty seal bag is a reusable and re-sealable bag designed by Dowty manufacturing.
The hair clip you refer to is I suspect is a split pin.
Split pins are not always supplied as part of a wheel bearing overhaul kit.

Re: What wheel bearings are these?
There should be one large bearing, one small bearing, one seal (ring) and one packet of grease per hub.
No harm will come to the bearings if to identify them you have to remove them from the factory wrapping.
Once identified re-wrap and re-seal in a Dowty seal bag.

Re: Oil Pressure Switch (leak)
As regards negative earth for phones etc. Just run a corrected earth dedicated lead direct from the battery via a fuse and the jobs done. I ran for several years a 12v electric positive earth cooling fan on my 24v negative earth Landrover direct from one of the two batteries installed via a dedicate...

Re: standard 1098 engine
Only if the distance between the extreme edges of the damage is less than 2.64125" diameter would you be able to fit a cylinder liner. See section AAA.12 of Morris Minor 1000 workshop manual AKD 530. If the damage distance is more than that quoted above the remaining damage will still be expose...

If your windscreen is leaking just flood the seal with Captain Tolley's creeping crack cure. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/126024991251?epid=2306096349&itmmeta=01HT0C6SF64B8E5BWXH1BZNK3P&hash=item1d57acc213:g:USsAAOSwEmNk6xWi&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA0NVn%2BegO9A2Ieq16dmWugHWFYjM3LD%2FhicvHMtAY...

Re: Water temperature switch
It will be much easier to fit a coolant temp gauge than try and improvise what you want.
If you want the light to illuminate when the engine is overheated it will be too late. With a gauge you will know what the temp is and can observe it rising and stop the engine before the engine gets damaged.

Below is a Marina/Ital stub axle fitted to a Minor swivel. What ever the grade those bolts with washers are I would advise that they need to be replaced with the correct bolts & without washers and correctly torqued.

Re: VENT PIPE
I do have the SU Reference Catalogue. Burlen Fuels ALT9524, Issue 12/4, December 1998. It states for a 1098cc 'A' Series engine fitted with a AUD 13 carb the needle should be AUD1478AN. The catalogue does not give a listing for the HS2 carb when the PCV valve is fitted/used or for the HS2 carb with ...

Re: VENT PIPE
The manifold in the photo above is the early 2 piece manifold for a H2 SU carb. There is no provision for either a PCV valve or servo vacuum take off. The manifold appears to have been drilled and tapped for a vacuum pipe take off. Only the later manifolds have provision for the PCV valve and servo ...
