Thanks for your comments Ian, but Newton have categorically refused to fit MM seat covers due to length of time it takes, they do fit Series II and onwards - but will have a go myself. Alan

Hi. Don't want to invent the wheel at my age so has anybody got practical information on fitting Newton Commercial seat covers, as I believe they are very difficult to fit. Wanted MM seats

Thanks Ian for sending me the thread, Didn't realise that it was such an ongoing problem. Smithskids suggest oil coming from distributor hole and it seems to me to be the only possible place for oil to get through. I am adopting "ostrich technology" - has anybody got a bucket of sand? Stil...

Thanks Mike, sounds like common sense, and I like the idea of my head bolts not going rusty! Has anybody got any ideas where I can get hold of an MM dipstick.

DIDN'T REPLACE STUDS, STUDS IN GOOD ORDER AND DIDN'T HAVE PROBLEM TORQUING NUTS DOWN. DOESN'T LOOK LIKE A COMPRESSION LEAK, FAR TOO OILY FOR THAT. I BELIEVE, ITS A MYSTERY

I would be interested to know if anybody has fitted remote brake servo to an MM, whilst retaining original brake drums etc.- I feel that the standard set up is OK but would appreciate a bit more stopping power. If anybody can help would be interested to hear. Alan
