I thought I'd stumbled upon the home of the 'barn find' but I was disappointed to see not a single unloved car or restoration project.

Abandoned Morris?
This car has appeared a few times recently on a Fecebook page for unloved and abandoned cars. It is taxed but seems to be in an unusual place and hasn't moved for a few days, apparently. Hopefully it isn't abandoned but do you know the owner and do they know its location?

Re: Door draught excluder - correct colour?
I don't want my car to be concourse - I'm just happy if it starts. I have everything as listed above, except the red go-faster stripe, which is a job for another day

Door draught excluder - correct colour?
Do we have a guide to the correct colour of door draught excluder for particular bodywork colours? My car is a 1962 two door saloon (DL, no less) in Rose Taupe with duotone red interior but I find it hard to believe that these cars left the factory with such design intricacies as colour co-ordinated...

Re: Engine rebuilders
I had my 948 rebuilt by a company in Stockport - Quasar Engineering. I was impressed with the process, which included a look around the workshop.

Re: JTH 725F
I'd forgotten about this post. I was asking because I was about to view the car as it was for sale. However, when I went to view it, it needed too much work to get it back on the road, so I didn't buy it. I understand it was bought and taken away on a trailer soon after my visit.

Re: Clutch components beyond salvage?
You might want to search ebay for a reliant robin / kitten clutch kit exactly the same as the 948 minor bit I got a brand new not recon ap Lockheed kit for £50 delivered by searching reliants not minors. Thanks for the tip but I had already bought the clutch kit and engine backplate. I've purchased...

Re: Clutch components beyond salvage?
Thanks. I'll call Millennium Motors tomorrow to see if they have one - they're local to me. If not, I'll trawl through my spares or look on the internet at the links you sent.

I've just had an email from BMIHT Archive confirming that the engine is the original that was fitted to the car from newGeordieDave wrote:I'm trying to find out if it is the original engine.

Re: Clutch components beyond salvage?
Phil, thanks for the quick response. Here's the flywheel that's on the engine. Looks like I need a flywheel or I just get a 948 clutch kit.[frame][/frame]

1098 back plate and clutch kit has been purchased but have I made a booboo? Do I have to have a 1098 flywheel?

Re: Engine noise (video with audio included)
Not sure why it was described as dodgy. That was one of my questions too but the bloke who stripped the engine wasn't in when I visited, so I couldn't get an answer.bmcecosse wrote: what's the 'dodgy' duplex conversion ?? has the chain been rubbing on the screw heads - maybe not countersunk ?
