Wing Mirror

The drivers side Wing Mirror on my Traveller got smashed while i was away in Canada and i was wondering if anyone has just replaced the glass rather than the whole assembly? Mine is the round type on the wing and the glass in about 110mm across form what i can make out.

Many thanks

Albert

Re: 45D Base Plate

No no I know, what I'm saying it that I will cut the pin away and I will then be able to swivel it around to the long slot where it can move freely under vacuum. When the pin is situated at the moment two parts are unable to swivel[frame]Image[/frame]

Re: 45D Base Plate

That's exactly what i thought looking up pictures of 45D base plats, but i found one that was like this. I think i will cut the peg out move it round then make up a new peg for the time being.

45D Base Plate

slightly confused over the base plate from the 45d off my marina 1275 engine. Surly with the vacuum advance will not work with the 'peg' in this position?[frame]Image[/frame]

No i was not aware i needed them and it did not come with any. I have ground the heads of the bolts down a bit but it must need a little more off them.

Re: choosing a cam

Well i have ported the head, cut and lapped in the valves, so the head it pretty much ready to go on. But i have been fitting the Duplex Timing Gear and chain set up this evening but have run in to a few problems.... The gear on the crank was sitting to proud compared to the one on the cam, so i rem...

Re: choosing a cam

Been a while but i have made some progress. Got the head skimmed and unfortunately the guy did not gas flow it like i was told he was going to (he was joking apparently), but he took 1mm off the head and asked if i got it out of a pond haha. But i got die grinder and some tungsten carbide bits so i ...

Re: choosing a cam

Well I made up a tool and pushed out the guides this afternoon. I also made up the 13.72mm piece of tube which I very much like the idea of for setting the depth of the guides. [frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1457206757_17931 [/frame] I completely forgot about taking the springs with me a...

Re: choosing a cam

You should be able to make out the information on the PDF if you zoom in with your PDF viewer the info is on page 21, but it is just the same as the chart provided to me with no information on the springs themselves apart from the part number. okay then I shall have a play with my granddads hydrauli...

Re: choosing a cam

Well you both put forward very compelling arguments as to whether I should install the springs as a double setup or not. So I phoned up Kent cams and the guy quoted 74-200lb for the spring load. He went on to say that I would not reach that 200lb of pressure on the springs with the lift that given b...

Re: choosing a cam

Okay then i shall stick with the single spring, but thanks for the offer of the inner double spring collars. yes when I took it apart it only had them on the inlets. Well the guy used to work for Damico and did quite a bit of work tuning A-Series engines so i have been told so i'm pretty happy to le...

Re: choosing a cam

Sorry I could not provide a picture of the other side of the flywheel as I was having trouble uploading the picture. Thank you much for the identification, I think the previous owner got the flywheel form from ESM. he did all the conversion but never actually install the engine. I also picked up a '...

Re: play in the steering column....crash

I looked on line with part numbers Phil put up and found it's a 1/4" UNF bolt with a 1/2" plain shank. will be fine till i get a High Tensile one off the net.

Re: play in the steering column....crash

there seems to be no play in the steering pinion as I gave her a good wiggle with no movement.[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1456322221_17931 [/frame]However as you can see in the picture, the bolt has been loose for some time and through wear and tear the splines have cut a grove in the...
