Re: Roller thrust bearing cost?! Type 9 ford

Hi dan, sorry I've not been about on here or the car so am pretty useless. The Morris is 99% complete was over boosting and had a gearbox clearance problem due to having one of first Birmingham conversion bell housings. I had to get one spacer shim for the clutch nose if I remember correctly. It dea...

Re: Bonnet modification

Hi id be really interested in that newsletter or any more details with regards to the gas strut set up! Looks great, my friend just showed me his new Audi and I really liked the motion and smoothness of it, plus more head space and I always wondered if my catch contributed to any of my rattles! Thanks

Re: SUZUKI JEEP SJ410 ENGINE

Oh nice, totally on board with that. The SJ's out here are 1 litre (f series engine) or 1.3litre (g series engine). The vitara is a 1.6 but not sure how easily that would fit. The 1.3 g series suzuki engine would be interesting from the suzuki swift gti. Standard they put out 105 bhp but I know the ...

Re: SUZUKI JEEP SJ410 ENGINE

It's biggest problem is the custom exhaust. As you can see I had a mate knock up a stainless manifold. The other issue is the sump clearance, the sump is quite easily damaged as it sticks down low (due to the steering rack) and I peeled the bottom of one sump clean off after driving over a protrudin...

Morris minor hire staffordshire

Hi, thought I'd quickly enquire if anybody could help. I get married on August 28th this year in Staffordshire. I've been rebuilding my (tastefully) modified black split screen for the past three years for the wedding and the deadlines are going to be tight! I've found a few online company's who do ...

Re: SUZUKI JEEP SJ410 ENGINE

Only just found this post, can't believe somebody else did this. I had the rarer 5 speed box, su carb, sj413 ignition. Bomb proof little engine but in my mind not thaaaat much was gained. Unleaded fuel blah blah blah but compression was too low, ( perhaps good for turbo install as su set up boots st...

Re: Torsion bar fatigue

I wasn't going to say anything down to absolute shear embarrassment, but I have to confess because it might make some of you laugh. I solved the problem.... I'd taken the front arms to a friend to plug weld the mounts for the upright damper kit, and when I put them back on the car I'd put them on th...

Re: Morris 1000 rear arches on splitscreen

Brilliant cheers for that guys, I'll bare all that mind, my original ones have got plenty of life left in them just trying to get the stance right on the car and think the later might help, my mate had a 56 1000 and it was only when I'd parked my 56 split next to his we noticed the wheel arch shape ...

Re: 1275 Midget motor conversion

Id go with an electric fan, A series hardly has an abundance of power and you'll not only save space but gain a couple of hp in effiecieny not turning the fan. Heres a pic of mine installed between the grill and radiator. [frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1429258409_18352 [/frame] I'll phot...

Re: Roller thrust bearing cost?! Type 9 ford

Will try to get some picks up this weekend, the only problem is it's still a in theory it works! Engine not running yet, but if you select a gear it locks the wheels so you can't push it the opposite way as it should, push in the clutch and hey presto car rools forwards, but I can't categorically sa...

...ha yeah I don't know why I didn't just go looking through images on Google! Morris 1000 rear arches on splitscreen

Hi, does anybody know if the morris 1000 wings are intechangeable with splitscreen ones. I know this will be controversial but I don't like how high the arches are cut on my splitscreen and they are pretty rotten so I'm wondering if I can literally swap them for morris 1000 ones?

Thanks

Torsion bar fatigue

Hi guys I have been restoring my front end and have gone down the route of a certain popular weld on Warwickshire gas damper kit  I marked my torsion bars and rotated them around one spline, re assembled and as I lowered the car off the jack ...well it just kept going down. I mean, really down...

Split screen series 2 headlining

Hey guys, about to change the headlining on my split screen, was hoping people out there would have pictures of the two options that seem available (from esm) They do a grey one and a cream fleck, not sure which to choose! The car is black, and I have burgundy carpets with the morris 1000 detailed d...

Re: Roller thrust bearing cost?! Type 9 ford

Will get some picks up soon but got my full hydraulic hub centric clutch set up and working a treat, all braided hoses and remote reservoir in the engine bay, lovely feel to the pedal and I can ride the clutch all day long :D perfect for spending my mornings sitting in traffic!

Re: Type 9 hydraulic clutch

Sorry long on the reply but got my clutch running sweet. Full hydraulic, hub centric set up, cost around £120ish and thrust bearing costs £18 to replace so if this goes once it's paid for itself when you compare it to cost of the rotating thrust bearing from morris centres which are around £80 and a...
