Re: Marina Engine Distributor
Thanks for your reply BMC I have been told from the Marina forum that it is a 43D. They also agree with you on the upgrade. Would it be beneficial to upgrade to a vacuum 45D? Is it easy to do? What is the best 45D to buy, there are quite a few different manufacturers for sale on ebay. All the best, ...

Marina Engine Distributor
Hi Guys, I have a Morris Minor fitted with a Marina 1300 Engine. I have been told the distributor fitted is a 25D. This distributor has no vacuum advance fitted and looks more like a 45D. My engine number is 12VE-H102604. Can anyone identify the distributor? Thanks Ian[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbim...

Re: Indicator/hazard problem
Just checked out the wiring and quite honestly was struggling to trace the wires. However you are correct the wiring from the new hazard warning lights do disappear into the existing wiring loom. I was round at my local garage and explaining the fault to the mechanic. He tried the indicators and it ...

I will need to check that.
Will do tomorrow, I do have the original indicator relay under the bonnet.
The flasher relay is under the dash.

Re: Indicator/hazard problem
Now there is a question.
It is the one you can get on ebay.
It has a pull out switch that is illuminated.
The hazard warning relay is fitted on a bracket behind the illuminated switch.

Re: Thirsty Moggy
Hi gtt, I did the very same thing yesterday when filling up the Moggie. Filling away and the petrol shot out the filler. The thing is you are so used to the pumps cutting out you forget to be careful. My Moggie has a 1300 Marina engine with a 4.1 ratio diff. My mileage per gallon is all over the pla...

Hi Folks, The new Morris is going well. However a wee problem has occurred that is annoying me. Probably been there all the time but I have just noticed it. I have hazard warning lights fitted. When you turn left the green light on the indicator stock flashes okay and all is well. When you turn righ...

Re: High level brake light for a convertable
Hi Michael, Not done anything about it yet, however I like your thinking. Would it be legal with respect to distance off ground, etc. Not had much chance to use my new Morris this year much as I have been working in Germany and Indonesia. Got a contract in Germany from August till the end of the yea...

Re: Travel from Bristol
Checked the speedo against the sat nav and at 30 MPH the speedo is reading 25 MPH.
Just as well I checked as the Police are red hot with their speed checks in Argyll.
So you are right Dale, it must be the original speedo with the different differential.

Travel from Bristol
Hi Folks, I flew down to Bristol from Glasgow on Saturday on the Eazyjet flight at 0840hrs. Arrived in Bristol at 1000hrs and caught a Taxi to Charles Ware, cost me £32, Ouch! Typical Airport taxis. On arrival at Charles Ware I was shown round the workshop and then shown my car, Morris Minor Convert...

Hi Sue, I am a Mature man. Bus pass later this year. Looking forward to the bus pass but not being the age you have to be to get it! I too have to pick the car up and then drive the 400 miles from Bristol to Argyll, Scotland. Will need to remember about the 6 gallon tank and keep it well topped up. ...

Re: Five Speed Gearbox Fitment.
Hi, I have just bought a MM Convertable from a reputable firm in Bristol. The car is fitted with a Marina 1275cc engine and Sierra 5 Speed gearbox. I asked the question what clutch assembly had been fitted and was told the three parts,(i.e. Pressure plate, Friction plate and Thrust bearing) were mad...

Thanks Iain, Very informative. I will take all your comments onboard. The hood on my car is brand new so hopefully will last a few years. The car will be kept in a garage all the time apart from the odd night away in the summer. I suppose your comments on the rear window means the hood is better lef...
