Re: TORCH!!

Having said how good Lenser are, I went to use my torch the other day it wouldn't switch on, broken push button. I contacted them to check if the spare part listed was correct for my torch. They said no, mine was an older model but they had switch that should work, which they would send to me FoC Ar...

Re: TORCH!!

LED Lenser are very good. I now have 3. The first one had a Duracell battery leak, my fault for not replacing it when flat,I asked about buying a replacement end cap that had been damaged by the battery and they said they would replace the torch for free. Ridiculously good service. A bit of cleaning...

KeithL wrote: Fri Feb 16, 2024 10:20 am Has anyone used their Fuelpecker card in February?
My card has a Feb expiry date so still working. I used it on Monday and the money came off my bank account on Wednesday which is pretty speedy for Fuelpecker I thought.

Will give it another week before asking about a replacement card.

Re: Membership benefits - Esso Fuel Card

Does anyone know if the Fuelpecker cards will be automatically replaced when they expire, or is it a benefit that won't be continued? I certainly haven't seen it mentioned in the magazine for a good while . The expiry date is next month and it's been handy as there is an Esso station is not far away...

Re: Pink antifreeze

My car was filled with 4life coolant, which is pink in colour and is perfectly okay to use in a minor.

I guess the problem is you just don't know what the previous owner has used to be able to have confidence, rather than there being an definite problem.

I didn't get the normal reminder last month either but you can renew online without the letter but you need the V5 document.

Re: Rear Suspension Overhaul Advice please

I fitted the ESM kit last year, bit of an issue fitting the pins to the spring hanger but otherwise more straightforward than expected. Some photos in my post, last couple show position of axle stand with timber packer. I did one side at a time as all round access wasn't possible. https://board.mmoc...

Re: Number Plates (size, shape)

I bought plates from Tippers and they advised that they have specific sized rear plate for booted Minors, didn't apply to my Traveller but does sound like Minor saloons and convertibles use a specific size.

Ford Streetka leather seats on JLH bases. These seats are also heated, although I've never wired them up.

Re: How did this happen!

Had the same issue on an Audi A3 years ago, it was still under warranty. The AA/ RAC came out (part of warranty) and rather than call out a recovery truck he pulled the pedal back up to let me drive it and followed me to the garage. He'd seen it a few times on VW Golfs where the clutch cylinder star...

I didn't catch the name of the company but on a fairly recent episode of Wheeler Dealers they retempered a spring. It says company was in West Midlands.

There are several options on how to fit them but this is what I did. The JLH bases are an extra cost and extra weight but I like how they've worked out.

I'd saved an old post on this subject:

Haven't got round to fitting the Hif38 yet but have the mini filter housing saved for that day. I did think the Triumph one looked more like the original Morris version.

Re: Which poly bush goes where?

I fitted the ESM leaf spring kit earlier in the year and have the Red bushes in the spring eyes and the blue bushes in the rear hanger body mount. I can't recall how I came up with that arrangement but think that was the only way it would go together. I found the front pins were a nightmare to fit, ...

Re: Bearing and hub issues

If you got the troublesome bearings from ESM, were they KG branded? They supplied KG ones with the Marina based disc kit that they sell and they were far too tight on the stub axle- needed a puller to remove.
I got SKF bearings instead and they fitted easily
