Re: Best quality inlet manifold gasket on LCB
Can I ask where you are getting yours from then please? Hopefully have the engine finished and painted this week and want it back in the car. Just in time for winter

Re: 1275 Midget motor conversion
Sorry BMC that read a little harsh and I appreciate where your coming from. Your advice is important as I came here to learn and to weigh up the pro's and cons when working on my car. I'm still waiting on notification about the 1275 I may have lined up, hopefully very soon.

Re: Widened stock rims
Thought you might like to see an idea I was throwing around. A mate did a quick photoshop. Porsche Fuchs rims on a Moggy :D I'm finding out on adaptors as we speak purely out of interest. They do look rather nice though i'd go for semi polished and black paint.[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?...

Best quality inlet manifold gasket on LCB
I have been sent what looks like a rather flimsy and cheap looking inlet/exhaust manifold gasket from a major supplier. This one looks paper thin and can't see it sealing very well. What are my options here? I'm running a Howley manifold and 1.5" LCB so is there a better, dare I say it competiti...

Re: Widened stock rims
Your car looks very clean Chris and sits very nicely. Lovely car. Thank you for taking the time to load up the pictures, it helps a lot in getting ideas and also motivates me to get out in the garage as often a possible. Should you be interested in selling the 185/70's please let me know. Thanks again

Re: 1275 Midget motor conversion
That's the first positive thing you've replied with to all my posts. It's very clear you do not like modified morris minors from most of your replies to me in other sections and now here. I soon realised many of my first post's discussed upgrades and were not ideally topics for general parts of the ...

Re: Widened stock rims
How much is your car lowered please? I had hoped to squeeze a 185/70 in on a 5.5 rim with my car being lowered 1.5" all around. The car already has new 145/70's on the stock rims so I may just tidy those until I can afford van rims. Should hopefully give me the look similar to yours, nose down ...

Re: Widened stock rims
That's great. Can I ask what size tyres your running please? The rears really fill the arch nicely. Also is your car lowered?
Thanks for the picture as it gives me something to stare and dream at

Re: Widened stock rims
M25man that's job done, no messing about. They'll look killer with a stock hubcap and a pair of van rims on the front. Exactly the stock but different look i'm after.
Another thing ticked off the list, much appreciated

Re: Widened stock rims
Chris banded rims are of no interest to me plus some MOT places can get funny about them. The wheel isn't banded it's re-hooped and only the center is used. I do know of other places through the hot rod world but thought there was a company doing these specially for a Moggy using the re-hoop method....

Widened stock rims
I recently saw pair of rims that were ideal for my project. They were stock but re-hooped and taken out to either 5.5 or 6", I cant for the life of me remember which. I wish i'd kept the advert as it had a great description of how they made and set up perfectly to go under a stock rear arch. So...

Re: LCB Exhaust tight up against cross member.
I have a 1.5" LCB and HS4 going on my 1098. I trial fitted the manifold and it is the same as yours. There is too much curve on the last part of the manifold which kicks the exhaust up and not parallel to the bottom of the car. Mind you it only cost £45 ff Ebay and that was with the 1.5" H...

Re: Various modified questions
Sorry Chris I keep saying cold starts but mean drivng in general throughout the winter months. As it will never be a performance car i'll hook it up and see how it goes. If nothing else it will tidy things up nicely :D I agree with the longer vent. My thoughts are to run it back along the fuel pipe ...

Re: Various modified questions
Hi Chris I think the way i'll do it then is run the crankcase breather to the carb and the rocker cover vent to a small K&N. I'm pretty sure the union on the left in the picture is fuel in as it has the correct fitting. I'm sure I read with the other fitting a small piece of tubing 2-3" lon...

Re: Various modified questions
Thanks Chris Thought i'd show you the carb, you might point me in the right direction with the hoses here. From left to right is it fuel in then vent tube left as is, then union by dash pot to crankcase breather and then vac line? Bit more polishing and some bolts for the ram pipe :D http://i44.tiny...

Telescopic Front pic request
Next week works starts on the front end suspension rebuild and modification using a telescopic conversion. I'm yet to see one fitted and can only find pictures of them in pieces. Has anyone got some decent pictures of a set up please. If I can see what they look like it will give me a better idea of...

Various modified questions
As my 2 door 1098cc project carries along full steam I've got a few questions and hoping to shed some light on a few things if possible. Firstly replacing the vacuum line from the distributor to the carb. My original set up had a screw fitting on the dizzy, went to a fitting bolted to the front of t...

Re: Towing with a Morris Minor
Blimey that's some going, towing that lot. Was that with a standard MM? A race mini has to be around 550kg plus the trailer and spares. As an early Eriba is less than 350kg and half of that weight, looks like my car will be up to the task then. Maybe why Eriba Pucks weren't fitted with brakes, weren...

Re: 1275 Midget motor conversion
Hi Chris Thanks for that, doesn't look like too much of a job then really. I think i'd lose the Meccano linkage and go for an Hydraulic set up. I have seen an Hydraulic set up for a Moggy advertised in the Moss book of goodies. It's not cheap and says 1098cc only. Would that be an option, I don't un...
