Indicator (probably flasher relay, but open to suggestions)

Hi folks, (Yes, I'm still alive, and still driving Rebecca). So about a year and a half ago I fitted a new indicator stalk as the original one became unservicable (istr some plastic internal snapped). Ever since the new stalk was fitted occasionally the bulb on the end of the stalk would appear not ...

Re: Restoration advice

Would absolutely whole heartedly recommend JLH Minors. Not cheap, but their standards are excellent, and the quality is amazing.

Re: Speedo tpm/tpi question

Having dug around on a Mini forum, I'm after a kph speedo with 800 as the tpkm. Metric Smith's speedos have tpkm in the same place that the imperial ones have tpm.

If anyone's got one going spare, I'm interested :)

Speedo tpm/tpi question

Quickie for you...

On the km/h speedos is the little turns per whatever - is it in km or miles?

Re: Will a alternator help?

And no - an alternator won't help with starting...... Well, that depends on the driving Paul's doing. If he's doing lots of sitting in traffic in queues idling on cold, wet days then while an alternator won't help with starting it'll do a much better job keeping the battery charged and that will he...

Re: Professional Restoration

Well - mine was done entirely professionally, but to give you hope - my car was complete scrap, really, when it came down to it.

And this (excuse the cruddy quality) is what she's looking like now:

Re: Professional Restoration

just passed mot but needs a lot of welding Honestly, how long is a piece of string? It very much depends on what you've got hiding under what you can see. I took what I thought was a fairly sound minor to get a few jobs done and ended up doing a complete restoration of the chassis and much of the r...

Re: Need an independent assessor

Thanks for the suggestions folks. That's a good couple of places for me to talk to... Hopefully I'll get a bit of a chance to do it today (I'm at interviews today and tomorrow, which keeps me a bit tied up :-/ (not literally!)).

Need an independent assessor

So, as some of you know I'm involved in a court case against a company who restore minors. The court have ordered that we have a joint independent assessment of the vehicle based on the photographs and retained panels (I believe they can discuss the restoration with Jonathon, but must bear in mind h...

Re: police car question

Aye, when I was taking the Minor dressed-as-a-police car to Pride, the Met were quite happy for me to drive it in their area with the faux lightbox & decals on, and just said 'contact all the other forces you'll be driving through, as they may not be amused otherwise' (that's almost verbaitim).

Re: younger members thread.

Incidentally I'm not at all nice. And my Minor is such a ridiculous colour I don't think a district nurse would be seen dead in it, in fact I shall go in search of one tomorrow and prove myself right 8) Well, I'm not a district nurse... but I'm a nurse. And I'd be seen very much alive in your minor...

Invariably, as posts here have shown, a refund or replacement will be offered. Uh hu. 'course it will. Because all traders are created equal, and all respond appropriately to complaints and are committed to producing a quality product. Things never, ever go wrong. Oooh, look. A discount on skiing h...

Legally, if it's a public event then there is no issue with photographing anyone, although many of the police would like there to be, and often behave as though there is.

The club want to bring in younger members and the web is an ideal way of doing this. Sadly the club is run by (and consequently for) the older members who, by and large, don't use the internet or see the forum as the valuable resource which it undoubtedly is. And therein lies the problem. As long a...

Re: pickup restoration project

I am surprised that an engineering shop would work on a Viva head and not a Minor?? Surely a cylinder head is a cylinder head!? Something about not liking A series engines. My local HiQ don't 'like' Volvos, one of the guys had his Viva (oddly enough) written off by a 240, and has since had an avers...

Yeah, I just got a mail from him to alert me to the fact I can't PM him on here anymore (since we occasionally used it for info about my car). I'm very disappointed, as the best supplier & restorer I've encountered and a great source of information it's a huge loss to the MMOC Forum. While I und...
