distributor cap
I have been told I cannot put a late model of dizzy cap onto an mm distributor. These caps vary a lot in price. Why are the mm ones so pricey and why are they not interchangeable?

Overriders
Can someone tell me when bumper overriders came in? I obtained information from the FHVCC which said my car was made in 1951,then went to America for a year and returned to the U.K. exactly a year later to the day. She has overriders but I have been told they didn't come in until 1952. Does the FHVC...

Re: Series MM Questions
When exactly did the MMs get the coachline under the rear windscreen? as I'm buying what I am told it a 51MM lowlight but the guy selling it has a 51 MM tourer which he says is older then the lowlight, bit confusing really! Didn't the lowlights end production in 1950? I have a 1951 mm and she is a ...

Does anyone know where JFA 189F is? I sold it to a workmate named Ivor Cooper in the late 90's. She was a 1967 2 door saloon in dove grey.

grill surround
Can someone tell me when the grill surround on the mm changed from the chrome surround to the painted surround . I ask because I have been told by the FHVCC that my car is 1951, but I have read that the painted grill, which mine has, didn't come in until 1952. Please explain.

Re: More meddling from the EU
I see in CCW that only cars which are historically correct can be called classic. Anything otherwise- which I assume to mean cars with seatbelts or disc brakes- are just 'old cars'. This seems a bit harsh to me. What do you think?

Re: Paint finish
My Mary is a 1951 mm and Thames Blue and Mist Green were the colours of the day. I would like to know where on the car can I find the paint code to be sure what colour she should be.

Paint finish
Where, on the car, do I find the paint code? I got a certificate from the FHVCC which said my moggy was originally Thames Blue. The problem is, under the rear seat, it looks more green than blue; or does Thames Blue look greenish? I need to find out soon so I can spray her in her original colour.

Paint finish
In the past, I have sprayed many panels on the various cars I have owned; including Moggy wings, and I always did 3 coats and left the paint to dry and that was it. The gloss in the paint gave a perfect finish with no further work. I intend to give my mm a respray soon and I have been told I should ...

How can \I check if my coil is up to scratch? I have no spark at the points or plugs. The king lead is fine and if I touch across the coil tabs with a screwdriver there is a strong spark. Please help. I want my Mary on the road this summer.

Coil
How can I check my coil? My moggy will not start and there is no spark at the end of the lead from the coil to the distributor. I have tried shorting out the contacts on the coil and there is a good spark but nothing at the end of the lead.

:D :D :D Monty Python, Two Ronnies? (Four Candles). Anybody a certain age would probably agree with me. It comes under the "you couldn't make it up" category. I know exactly what you mean, mate. "Say no more, Squire, say no more. Know what I mean, eh,eh, nudge nudge, wink wink?"

Did you really need to remove the screen to spray? Could you have not masked the screen off, as I will do when I re-spray my mm?
