Thanks yes will be doing that - its just that l wasn't enjoying not being able to do the work on Doris anymore and the pleasure was lost having to have people do everything !

Thanks for replies ! Thanks Bmc ! Been to three factors today - the problem is that to match my cap - l will end up with a 15 lb cap - which according to the topics l have read isn't advised - yet l have had the car three years and had no problem ! have managed to get a 4 lb pressure cap now that fits - also a 15lb cap ...

Thanks BMC - did just that but made a mistake they cross referenced it - etc it looked right - same writing on the cap etc but when fitting the two lugs that fit to twist it on are slightly larger - hence not really keen at trying to cut them down a little - as it obviously is the wrong one - so l a...

Thanks for all advice given ! have fitted new pump successfully - and after having to re - adjust that little by-pass hose seems now to have no leaks ! During process have managed to break the rad cap - could do with getting one tomorrow from a local factors - don't suppose you know the part number ...

will check those sizes thanks and l was thinking that l was going to fit the gkt to the water pump - hence it moving whilst putting into place and trying to fit hose sorry a novice had another look and yes fit gkt to block face - over the dowels
