I was trying to make everything as original looking as possible, but agree with Bob about not getting too hung up on originality.. We did have someone on here many years back who made his own floor panels including the floor edge extensions in one piece - but didn't ever seem to finish the project.....

for most of the car i would use 0.6mm, you should be able to weld up to 2mm with that.if youre doing thicker stuff you may require some 0.8

The rustbuster product is the one i am planning on using.as i remember,they had 2 products depending on what application it is for.

i ended up buying a product called "one up " from simple solutions from my local refinishing supplies-i had used this on some vinyl mini seats many years ago with good results.again,i got some great results,heres some pics half way through cleaning them :-[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage...

the blast pots are much more effective than the vacuum type blasters .all blasters use a lot of air and you cant compete with a proper industrial outfit for speed But the home ones still do a great job.if you get one you will feel you want to blast everything l.o.l ,its quite satisfying seeing thing...
