Re: Rear Spring bushes
Just finished rear spring hanger on drivers side, the bolts came undone very easily, the top bushes and pin just popped out when pressed with my finger, they looked like new, happy days I thought until I came to the pin and bushes on the spring, they just wouldn't budge, the shoulders on the rubber ...

Re: Rear Spring bushes
Thanks again for all the advice. Just went out this morning to give the nuts a good squirt of Plus Gas, a penetrative oil I had from my days working in an engineering factory before being made redundant ( the best thing that ever happened to me) Tried the nuts with a socket and they were free so fee...

Re: Rear Spring bushes
Thanks for the advice, after supporting the car I am planning to let the axle drop down to its lowest point then supporting it there with my trolley jack, then doing one side at a time am thinking that I should be able to change bushes and pins using the trolley jack to move the axle a little if nee...

Half Term next week so I might get a chance to change the rear shakle bushes, these were an advisery on the last MOT. I realise this topic has been covered before but could someone advise as to the pitfalls I may face, also do I support the car and let the axle drop then support the axle in that pos...

Re: Steering Rack Gaiters
Hi Glad to know other Minor owners have tried what I have been thinking, but you are all wiser than me as I fail to see how a different oil could affect the metal parts other than if the different oil does not flow to the parts and they run dry. Rayofleamington's last post makes sense to me so I thi...

Re: Steering Rack Gaiters
Yep did that, they sent me two large ones instead of a large and small as ordered, but had some small ones in the garage. Wondering now what to do with the rest of the EP90, I know i shouldn't but cant help thinking the gearbox is quieter with cold thicker oil than after a long run when the warm oil...

Re: Steering Rack Gaiters
Hi all Thanks for all the replies. Did the job on Sunday and as per the last post just loosened the lock nut then unscrewed the TRE and then used a depth gauge to check how far along the TRE the nut was so I knew where to put it back to. Getting the gaiter over the rack was fiddly so hope i have bee...

Almond Green
Aldi have a range of anti rust metal paint at the moment. The green is a little darker than almond green, so I mixed a bit with a few drops of white gloss and the match is perfect for touching up any areas that need some T LC

Re: Daily use classics, very rare now.
I am on my third Minor and have used every one as my every day car, just this past weekend my 1965 has been to the tip twice and done the supermarket run!! I always acknowledge other classics in the same way as I always wave to other motorhomes when in the camper( my other vehicle that is 15 years o...

Re: Things that make you go AAAAARRRRGGGHHH!!!
People who drive with front fog lights on instead of headlights, and SPEED BUMPS, I don't speed so why should I have to cringe every time I drive over the severe pot holed bumps that are near me, MY POOR MORRIS.

Exactly the same as on my 1965 4 Door, including the white rings, but I have no way of knowing if I have an original speedo!

Re: Is this a Positive Earth battery setup
Hi Looks to me like you have negative earth which is good. You need to look for the + and - symbols on the battery to connect red charging lead to + and black lead to -. On your photo black lead (-) is going to the chassis meaning it is set up as negative earth and the red (+) lead is going to the s...

Is this the correct fuel pump?
Hi all Was just giving the Minor a quick once over on Sunday and decided to clean the filter in the pump. On my previous Minors this was easily done by unscrewing the filter at the bottom of the pump .However on my Current Minor (owned for 6 months and 1500miles ) I can't find the filter!! The pump ...
