Wheel arch liners
Somewhere in the dim and distant past I thought I read a thread about wheel arch liners. If so could someone direct me there.
If not, are there commercially made wheel arch liners or anyone got paper plans where I could make some from PVC sheet or similar?

Re: Failed MOT - Rear Brakes
bmcecosse and Mike.Perry - both, thank you for your knowledge here. I shall be out on the weekend and do just this. I may have unwittingly caused myself the problem by overadjustment of the handbrake. Anyway, I shall set to. At the moment rain stops play in 'Sunny South' - not as the Southern Railwa...

Re: Failed MOT - Rear Brakes
Hi bmcecosse. Many thanks for your help here. I have done as you suggested. The handbrake operates the pistons and, although uneven as the MOT station said, do lock the drums. Now the foot pedal whilst offering resistance does not lock the drums. The pedal does feel good i.e. not spongy and does loc...

Failed MOT - Rear Brakes
Failed MOT on both rear brakes. Station says it is almost although they are not there! Good pedal they say so no leakage. All metal and flexi pipes changed for last year MOT and it passed with flying colours. Front brakes excellent and pass easily (no pull to one side) Now I have taken road wheels o...

Re: What part is this? A rear seat scuttle panel?
Hi, As ManyMinors says ithe base material is called millboard and is available from Woolies. Its black and textured in colour but the colour I found nearest to the red original is Renault Bois de Rose. Paint colour ref 751-93 I had a Holts Professional mix done and you cannot tell the difference. As...

Re: poor quality parts update now happy
I will tack on to the end of this thread by also commending ESM on the quality of service whith poor quality parts. This was in respect of carpets where the pile pulled away from the backing and poor finish. They arranged a complete exchange of faulty goods with a better quality part. Not only now a...

Hi Andy (again!) I too have read your restoration log and without the respray the final product is almost a carbon copy to my project! Like they have rolled off the same production line :D The interior upholstery is fantastic a great credit to your Mum (does she take commissions??) I have working (b...

Kick Plate
Hi,
Have removed the kick plate(s) and found inevitable rust which has now been fixed like new!!
Question: The kick plate on my car seems to be sprayed silver. Was this the colour regardless of body shell colour?
My car is 1961 2 door Yukon Grey.

Re: Box section rust. On a scale 1 to 10 .....
Many thanks to replies and to your comment ManyMinors. Looking at it in the cold light of day seems I will definitely want parts of boxing section. Now on the photo the bottom section has been 'repaired/patched before. Now I want a pukka job done so my question is this part sill outer? I have had th...

Box section rust. On a scale 1 to 10 .....
Doing a routine spot rust treatment forces me to remove the dreaded sill trim and I unearth this.... Safe to say I was a little concerned, so, question on a scale of 1 to 10, how bad is this, what should I be buying in the way of steel sections and rough idea of £££ to be spent. This is the off side...

Re: Fuel pumps
Agreed, however when I purchased a rebuild kit from Burlen there was a suppressor supplied which fits across the contacts. This certainly does eliminate the sparking and thus extends the life of the contacts to, well, maybe more than 50 years!! You do need to be fairly exacting with its position to ...

I painted (sprayed mine) using a Holts professional mix from Halfords. The colour is BS381C Mid Bronze Green. This information was recognised by Halfords. It turned out a 'good drop of stuff'

Re: Trafficators
Tysonn makes a good point on the pulsating voltage to the electromagnet. I too am considering putting the trafficators back to work alongside the flashers. For this reason I have devised an 'add on' circuit using two diodes, two electrolytic capacitors and two relays to take the pulsing voltage and ...

Re: Weep from thermostat housing studs
Hi bmcecosse. I will be applying Loctite to the studs (probably a hydraulic type 542 or similar) next week. I do notice on the thermostat 'repair kit' you can get from ESM they show plain washers under the head of the nut rather than spring washers. As a temporary measure I have added these with a s...

Weep from thermostat housing studs
Thought I had found the problem to the weep from the thermostat housing as the head had a slight chip where the thermostat sits in the recess. This has been fixed. Armed with a new gasket (not a cork one but a thicker more pliant type) I reassembled and filled with water/antifreeze mix. With the eng...

Thanks for the feedback here. There is not a crack. I think there may have been a weep in the past and has been allowed to erode. I will give the JB weld product a try.

Many thanks for all suggestions. The wings had been replaced prior to my ownership. I think the wing in question may have had a slight bump (a slight ripple exists) which I have removed. Wing adjustment and hockey stick removal and realignining is the first order of the day and then maybe a shim beh...
