Very nice work! Hope you don't mind me asking have you fitted spring washers or shake proof washers on the brake back plate bolts under the nuts they look a bit short on length? don't want then coming loose. might be the photo angle maybe.

After tyres were removed a good match to the original silver I found to be RAL 9022 SILVER in 2k other silvers are available but water based & then require clear lacquer

mmmmm I wonder if they have colour chips in there pockets when judging!

Thanks palacebear they will be done in 2k Dark silver (69 van) i'm not a fan of powder coating. I will have a look at the colour chips next time I go into the paint shop. Also how would a concours judge know if it was the correct silver anyway? They may know perhaps light or dark for the year maybe....

This is normally a yearly event I don't know a date for it as yet,it will probably be posted in minor matters sometime it's not in the jan/feb issue.

Look like to me it's corrosion that's caused the hole! & Most MOT inspectors mark defects with yellow chalk.

Almost finished the gearbox rebuild well will this next off shift! It's going to be left in aluminium finish for originality the spare one might do in the mid bronze green!!

I was watching a program the other day with mark evans about a young lady restoring a frog eye and the gearbox was mid bronze green and looked nice! Not that you can see much of it when fitted !

Anyone know if the gearboxes were painted bmc bronze green from new or just unpainted aluminium (1098 ribbed type) thanks.

Started to strip my project engines one is a 10 ma and the other 10v the 10ma has cam followers with small oil holes in the side and the 10 v doesn't which is the better? I think the ones with the small hole.
