Engine Breather Mod
I had a go at replacing the material in the crankcase 'chimney' I had a spare so it was dissected and the grotty mess scooped out. Although it was, mostly, intact it was solid with gunk https://i.imgur.com/1lyxYft.jpg After a clean and paint https://i.imgur.com/GqPpgUG.jpg £3 for six off Ebay, stain...
Re: rear seat
I believe the four door seats have rounded corners to allow easier passenger access but the two door seats are squared off to fit snug to the side of the car.

Re: Improved rear lights
That looks great :tu1: I used a different approach and fitted LED units into the reflector holders, it meant drilling the pillars for the mounting stud and wiring though. That along with new conventional stop/tail bulbs, with the holders painted with a chrome spray, made quite a difference. https://...

Re: Garage lights
I fitted these Ebay panels a couple of years ago https://i.imgur.com/HKd0nNu.jpg And these strip LEDs to the workshop end https://i.imgur.com/G6BeajF.jpg So far no problems and they give off a nice even light. I'll be fitting a couple more of the panels on the other side when the Commer is finished ...

Re: Brakes
There are a couple of different ratio servos around, usually 1.7 and 1.9. It could be that the servo you have is too powerful for the weight of the car.

Re: underated 1098?

There can be exhaust valve to block face clearance issues which can be sorted in a few ways:- recessing the valves, pocketing the block or, as in my case, skimming the valve faces ( I was lucky as the head hadn't been slimmed so very ...

Re: Virtually all electrical system gone.....!
It's a bit late to help you but I had the same issue when I lost all power in my Commer camper on a petrol station forecourt :-( I couldn't work it out but a temporary wire from the battery to the fusebox got me home. Took me ages to work out what the problem was as the ammeter simply failed without...

Re: Progress
I had a GTi many years ago and can confirm on the performance The GT is carbed so about 20HP less than the injected model, still no slouch though as this comparison featuring my car shows.
