Good, you've worked through things.

Have you checked there is oil in the carburettor dashpot? You can use engine oil if you have nothing else.

Also check for any leaks at the manifold and gasket.

There is a company called Jentree in Uckfield that do body work, they are good but doubtful any more affordable than ESM. Les, I rang Jentree earlier and I have agreed I will drive down to see them in the next few weeks so that they can give an estimate. Thank you for the recommendation. Stephen

I have two. A cheap digital and this slightly more expensive analogue meter. For the reasons Berni mentions, I prefer the analogue meter. Yes I think it is asking a bit much of the cooling system with a constantly operating fan to cope with all conditions from very cold to very hot! The Morris Minors destined for hot climates were fitted with 2x standard fans so that they had 4 blades.
