Re: Oil leak, oil pump cover

I think it's a 1098 plate ground out by the look of it, I'll take a better look tomorrow. Thanks

Oil leak, oil pump cover

So after a frustrating afternoon wrestling the gearbox out of the wifes Minor to change the noisy gearbox I think I've found the source of the annoying oil leak from the bellhousing. I thought while the box is out I'll whip off the flywheel and check out the scroll seal, while there I spotted the oi...

Re: Odd vibration

Its not a vibration noise its a vibration coming through the car like a prop vibration but as soon as you change into 4th its gone. Nothing in 1st or second either however hard you push it. Spec is a Midget 1275 mated to original gearbox running to a 3.7 diff. I've resigned myself to pulling the box...

Odd vibration

Ok, got the Minor running nicely and have noticed a strange vibration in 3rd gear, it only does it in third gear starts around 40mph and gets worse the faster you go, as soon as you dip the clutch or change up it goes, nothing at sll in 4th even at 70mph plus. All the gear changes are very good for a...

Re: 1275 breather issues

Update: I changed the rocker cover for a MG Metro one I had in the back of the shed with the original type MG cap which hreathes but not sure if it's enough/too much. Fitted an inline Volvo Amazon PCV I had kicking around and ran the car for approx 20 minutes while I reset the carb etc. Couple of dr...

Re: 1275 breather issues

It's a alloy rocker cover with a tube out of it approx 12mm id that goes to a pipe on the back of the K&N filter.

Re: 1275 breather issues

Now thinking about this, the engine came without a rocker cover and I have fitted an alloy one there is a very small hole in the centre of the chrome cap about 2 mm, a standard midget cap wouldn't fit it.

1275 breather issues

Has anyone got any real world advice on slowing down the oil drip from the back of a 1275 Midget engine fitted with hif44. The engine isn't in its first flush of youth but didn't lose anywhere near as much oil when it was fitted in the Midget it was pulled it from. The breather sysem at the moment c...

Re: Kustom Minor

The wording on the plate is "Betty Bitch" the wife named it blame her ;) Interesting comment, I'd say its still a Minor, it still has all it's original panels, all modified but still started off as Minor. It runs all original type suspension Minor axle case original gearbox and the Minors ...

Another Marina brake conversion question

Has anyone ever tried fitting the Marina caliper brackets the other way around so the calipers are mounted to the front with the standard Minor hoses fitted directly to the caliper ?
