Re: Top Trunnion

Ideally the screwed plug should be not be below the top face of the trunnion so that when the bump stop rubber hits the top of the trunnion the bump stop is not chewed by the threads and hole of the screwed plug hole. Unfortunately most if not all screwed plugs can be screwed deep into the top of t...

Re: Top Trunnion

Phil - why do you have to shim the plug? - can't you just add plenty of Loctite and put it to one side to set and then stake it?

Re: The fitting of Marina hubs

Thank you for that Phil. Now as My car is 100% dismantles could anyone give me distance from the outer face of the Morris Minor chassis leg to the outer face of the Minor hub to compare with Phil's measurement? Cheers

The fitting of Marina hubs

Can any one tell me if the fitting of Marina hubs alters the track of the wheels?

Panel Distortion

Bulkhead2.jpg I welded up the unwanted holes on the bulkhead and then trieid to lead over them but ended up distorting the panel and it's stretched inwards. There's little room to manoeuvre behind in the dash area and I've tried using a 'Shrinking Disc' and the blow torch and quenching method to no...

Re: Bottom trunnion purchase tip.

Ah - Just found this on the FMM forum :-

'And before anybody asks the Minor ones aren't the same as early Marina ones, Marinas had a beefier bore and thread.'

So - when looking at Fleabay how do you recognise a Minor one wrongly labeled?

What's this Engine?

Looking through some family photos and this is someone playing with my Grandfathers boat engine.
Looks to be a side valve - would that by chance be a Morris motor?

I only have vision in one eye so struggle with depth of field. I'm told one eyed people can't weld - well this one can't!

DIY Spot welder

I don't know where for sure to post this so I'll do it here. I'd love a spot welder - I make such a mess with my Mig and even worse with the Tig. I couldn't justify spending the money buying one in this country - we don't have 'Harbor Freight' here in the UK. So how about making one? I'd like just t...

At the moment I'm filling in the holes in the bulkhead that aren't needed - Can anyone tell me what the ones in the picture outlined are for?, they're below the 1/4" holes for the accelerator pedal cover/guard that fits on the inside.
Cheers
