I've just about managed to prevent the playing of the Christmas CD at work - my colleagues wanted to start up with the festivities in October, before Halloween!

Let's see, my car's twelve years old, my washing machine's around ten, the video machine's somewhere around five years, the computer's cobbled together from various bits and pieces (with a newish motherboard and other innards, but the monitor and peripherals are getting on in years), the TVs about f...

I also think it's a silly allowance - I got the firght of my life when I saw a guy on a bicycle coming at me down a one-way street, a coupe of years ago! I even honked my horn at him! As regarding accidents involving cyclists, there is another alternative, which thankfully didn't get passed onto our...

because people are stupid and lazy. And the scrap yard would have had to produce a certificate of scrappage because then the owner would have got his money from the government and the dealer, so it really isn't their fault, their hands are tied. Yes, they could have sold it on for more money but I t...

heh heh, I just use what comes in jars! And I can't stand raisins in a curry, either! Now, mangoes are a different thing altogether, they're lovely. And for us vegetarian, paneer is always a good ingredient, although a lot of supermarkets don'tcarry it round here. I also like putting Quorn pieces in...

Probably very few, it would be inteesting to see some verifiable figures on this.

And I have just written to my local MP thanks to WriteToThem, however as he's Labour I doubt I'll get through to him, unless he's a rebel backbencher.

And I just got a vey nasty reply from someone on another forum (totally unconnected with this one), telling me to, basically, eff off! Just because he had mates in the car industry who've lost jobs - but hasn't British car manufacturing been going downhill for decades? Why didn't the government do a...

This was a particularly nasty reply I received on another forum when I got into a debate on the scrappage scheme; That stupid scrappage scheme, is keeping people in work. A lot of my mates have lost their jobs in the car industry during this recession and anything the government can do to kick start...

Stupid Scrappage Scheme - when will it end?!

My rather young (20-year-old) work colleague today scrapped, not a Minor, thankfully, but a 1980s Micra. And for what? A modern, shiny, nasty new Corsa that he'll probably be bored with before he's finished paying the finance off. :( I wouldn't mind so much if the cars were to be sold, or even broke...

Oof, I hate three-speed gearboxes - due to having balance problems, I bought a Pashley Picador adults' trike a few years ago to go pootling around on - couldn't even pedal up a slight slope, never mind a proper hill! And I was told that the gearboxes are a nightmare to swap for a multi-gear modern-i...

Interesting - I had to resort to council help with a previous neighbour who insisted she had the right to play rubbish loud music (Radio One, which I despise) anytime she pleased. The only time I tried to resolve the issue politely, I got a door slammed in my face, so I had to ask the local council ...
