Re: Fuel starvation

Thanks. Did nothing but what you can see in the video. The car goes really well now. Not touching anything else.
Cheers and thanks for the warning.

Re: Fuel starvation

So made a few videos of what I did. May not be correct but it's worked like a charm. I think it's going better than ever before
Thanks for the advice.

Re: Fuel starvation

Thanks. Tried the hand clamp several time to no avail checked piston oil and movement. It's little stiff to move up early free to fall. Will remove the whole carb and use the manual to remove jet, clean and replace.
Thanks for advice

Fuel starvation

Hi I've searched and not had much luck. The fuel pump produces 1100ml a min so should be ok I've removed the float and there is fuel in the bowl when this starvation occurs Before I start dis assembling the carb do you have any ideas. (New territory for me) Gut tells me the jet and or feed pipe to j...

Re: Help with Main Beam PLEASE !!

This gives me a starting point as there is no obvious broken wiring or connectors that have come adrift. High beamed worked and no low beam, so drove home on brights and managed to choose a quiet road. Did annoy a few oncoming cars but given the option of compete darkness ..... :o Thank you and I'll...

Re: Anyone else own a Land rover

Hey Matt
Keep your eye on ebay and gumtree although watch out for scams. LRO mag has a few Landies for less than a grand. :D

Re: Stuck Gear Sump Plug

When trying to remove the sump plug, it split. After a short while or trying one thing or another, one section broke off, leaving three sides of the sump plug for me to work with. This is a short video showing what I did. It's not particularly elegant but it worked. I think the heat helped... https:...

Re: Anyone else own a Land rover

Yes, two....both Series 3 SWB, one a '75 and other '74, one just on the road and the second is queued up behind a moggie I've just started to refurb. Major differences working on the LR and MM is crawl space and the size and weight of parts. Use the Landy around the farm, primarily to take the bins ...

Re: Help with crossed threads - hub nut

This issue is not limited to Morris Minors; the hub nut on the Land Rover I've just refurbed looked like it had been attacked by a shark. On a LR should it be cross threaded, it is possible to replace the hub (shown below) rather than replace the whole axle, which makes sense given the bearing could...

Re: Help with crossed threads - hub nut

Dear Phil Thanks for the prompt reply I suspected that would be my only choice....Damn...but you're right, losing a wheel is not a great idea.... :D As it happens I have another complete axle "on the shelf" that I'll inspect and use if I can. Let that be lesson to those putting on a hub nu...

Help with crossed threads - hub nut

As the first part of the restoration project, the nearside rear brakes were drenched in oil. It turns out the rear hub did not have a seal or a gasket. The hub was loose, moving very slightly; the other side was solid. I assumed it was a bad bearing but is seems the hub nut was not tight enough. The...

Re: morris mono construction book

I've found the drawing in the workshop manual, looks like an older version MM but will it gives me a starting point to check the measurements when the Land Rover is outside where it should be and the MM is on a spit in the garage. Thanks again [frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1436190800_24...

Re: morris mono construction book

I'm a Newby and was looking for some help regarding dimensions of chassis. I have two Morris Minors (long involved story) both two doors and 1968/9. : one is in reasonable shape and will be on the road fairly shortly. The second is in terrible shape and the floorpan has really been randomly welded t...
