Re: winscreen installation tool?
Thanks, daveyl - I'll look out for that I hope and trust that it isn't that in this case, because the windscreen rubber was installed following a bare-metal restoration (including a professional paint job) We will see!

Re: winscreen installation tool?
Thanks, bmc :) I'm following the advice of a chap who has worked a lot on classic car windscreens (he's a professional windscreen fitter). I don't at all fancy taking the whole windscreen out, as I saw how tricky it was to fit it when the professional chap came to replace it after the Beast was rest...

Re: winscreen installation tool?
Not garaged, no (I should be so lucky ) and leaving on the 27th for four weeks on the Western Isles. As you can imagine, this has concentrated my mind quite wonderfully on leakproofing the Beast before we leave

Re: winscreen installation tool?
Thanks for your speedy replies, guys :) I do know that its possible to do the job with bent wire etc, but as you say the roller is harder to mock up than the diamond wire, and I feel they probably help with what's a bit of a tricky job. As you say, Louise, it's not a job you need to do all that ofte...

winscreen installation tool?
Hi everyone :D The Beast's windscreen is leaking - still leaking - after many hours with Captain Tolley's Creeping Crack Cure (stop sniggering at the back). We're going to take out the silver strip to release the inner flange of the windscreen rubber so that we can put a bead of non-setting black wi...

van leaf spring clips/bands
Hello everyone!
The clippy bandy things which hold together the leaves of the rear springs of my van have failed and come off . Does anyone know where I can get new ones? Searches of the ESM and Bullmotif websites are drawing a blank.
Cheers!

Re: Sound deadening
Noisekiller is supposed to be the best for this. IIRC they do a range of different types of sheeting, and you can get advice on which type to use on which bit of the car. I think it's self-adhesive. I'd agree, only use underfelt (and indeed carpet!) if you are confident that you've eliminated all th...

Re: my future plans...
Sounds a very interesting project, phurn, and although it's not my bag I wish you many hours of fun with it 8) Seems you are researching it very thoroughly and you have good reasons for using the V6, if this is your dream then stick with it, and just do all the legwork to make sure you minimise any ...

Re: Winter driving
My builder told me today about a chap round here who got fined and three points on his licence for driving with snow on the roof of his car. You can see the point, but three points seems a tad harsh

Re: charles ware morris minors
Hi Philip, welcome to the forum :D Sounds like the company dealt well with this potentially catastrophic failure. I've always expected spares suppliers to limit their responsibility to the cost of a replacement part, and sometimes include the cost of shipping - I wouldn't have expected them to stump...
