Originally a registration number allocated to the Bury (B) area and issued May 1958 - March 1959 but sadly No trace with DVLA.

Re: Split screen bulk head letter marking

From memory there were also 'S' stencils which it is suggested stood for 'Synobel' / 'Synthetic' paint and I spotted this one at Capel Manor (NLMMMOC) a few weeks ago, which I am told designated 'E' for Export. (Series III Clarendon Grey, 2 door Saloon).

I highly recommend Woolies in Peterborough. https://www.woolies-trim.co.uk and https://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/c-118-vinyl-renovation. They will colour match non-faded samples.

Re: How do you remove the rear arch liners?

Over the rounder inner arch the material some form of vynide is glued with a shaped vinyl cover panel as an edging. The latter has, from memory, 4 cross head screws in cups through the card / hard board covered vinyl and an aluminium former, designed to prevent friction wear.

Re: No engine number

I tried for years to tell DVLC as it then was of a new Goldseal engine fitted in 1979. Having been ignored I eventually removed the Goldseal number and had a new engine number strip made with the original engine number on it. The scrivets were drilled out and the new ones tapped into place. Now my c...

The others are on a hex stem with a ball-clip which when depressed relates the knob from the stem. Not a grub screw as far as I recall.

Re: Free model railway anyone?

I think that the track was all hand built, certainly my fathers P4 / Scale4 stuff was, I had to push rivet in the sleepers by hand.... I think the scale was 18.84mm to the foot, I still have his scratch built locos, carriages and goods stock. The P4 society may still exist and from memory the societ...

Liammonty monty we are at cross purposes. October 1957 the light in the indicator body NOT the end of the stalk and 3 light speedo - 1959 new self-cancelling indicator stalk with light on end / 3 light speedo and horn relocated to the steering wheel centre.

Re: Help for the trafficator switches

The right trafficator switch for a 1957 (October 1956 - October 1957) Minor was steering column mounted and horn push combined, but without a warning light on the assembly. The orange warning light was the top left of the speedometer. . After October 1957 and up to March 1959 the switch had a green ...

Off to Charles Ware’s in Bristol today to look at the ongoing work on RER919. Some interesting cars including their fist foray into electric propulsion with a variomatic type motor and modified prop straight to the diff. Andy and Wayne have loaned us a set of Series MM / Series 2 windscreen trim to ...

Re: Series MM (Later) Series II Windscreen trim clips.

We have been thinking about just such a problem. Apparently it was not so much the difficulty of producing the trim that was the problem and indeed one of the biggies apparently did so, but when it came to polishing, they buckled all over the place. Looking at producing a wooden former on which such...
