Re: which carpet kit should I buy

Originals had no trim around the outside and the modern ones lack the toe pad protector on the gearbox tunnel. I have a couple of these (original) if anyone wants one.

Re: Electric Fuel Pump SU v Hardi

The Hardi is, in my experience, much noisier than the SU and has a tendency to overheat and fail. Nor is it particularly cheap.

'An Uttlesford Branch member has contacted me to say that she has found four Morris Minor Tyres in her loft. She has. no idea when Ken, her late husband put them up there. The age is not known but they have been stored in a dark environmnt and by the looks of them there is no cracking on the walls a...

Re: Hello!

N - VE is a Cambridgeshire issued plate and issued March to November 1955. Although possible, it is unlikely that this is an age-related plate and more likely an original as the former tend to be from counties / areas which had not used their allocation ie some Scottish areas. A beautiful looking ca...

Where did you get the PCV diaphragm please. Mine in my 1957 car may well need changing after 40 odd years.

Re: Passenger glove box lid insert?

Guildbass asks an interesting question. Do the chrome surround lids fit the later - and indeed earlier - apertures? I have always been told that the dashboard did not change in terms of basic pressing from October 1956 (Likely October 1954, later Series II) to the end of production. Changes were sim...

I saw several sets with the side entry distributor caps at the recent Newark auto jumble. That along with eBay seems the best bet.

Original transmission tunnel carpet protector.

Original transmission tunnel carpet protector. Triangular rubber carpet protector which goes on the side of the transmission tunnel to prevent wear to the carpet. Few, if any of the modern replica carpet sets have this, or indeed the correct heel mat (which these match.)They are in very good conditi...

If replacing, take care as there are several differing types according to model. All will fit, but it depends if you want the right one.

just to add to the confusion, I had an OEW Austin A35 years ago and the Holts (remember them?) rattle cans gave 2 shades for it - Old English Ivory White No.1 and OEIW No. 2. I could not tell the difference.
