Sierra Type 9 5 speed box is grating in 2nd gear. It doesn't jump out of 2nd, so I suspect it is synchro. Would I be right in thinking that it is the synchro that has gone? What would be the rough cost of repair, and any recommendations where I could get it done? I would dearly appreciate quick resp...

Sierra Type 9 5 speed box is grating in 2nd gear. It doesn't jump out of 2nd, so I suspect it is synchro. Would I be right in thinking that it is the synchro that has gone? I have a 1275 Marina engine fully reconditioned, and wish to up the horsepower. I am told a different camshaft would achieve this but that it would also tick over lumpy. Please could you give me some advice on choosing a differential I have a 1300 A+ marina engine and a Ford Sierra 5-speed gearbox. Any advice on what would be the best ratio diff to use. I HAVE BEEN OFFERED A MORRIS A+ ENGINE AND I WANT TO FIT THE FORD SIERRA 5 SPEED BOX
INTO A 1962 MORRIS 1000.
CAN THIS BE DONE EASILY? AND WILL THEY BE A GOOD MARRIAGE?
