Re: Temperature sender adapter
This is the TE5 adaptor I bought and put into my block, in place of the blanking plug. This is what you’re looking for I think - https://www.minispares.com/product/Classic/Gauges/Cables,%20pipes,%20etc/TE5.aspx?1402&%20pipes,%20etc/LMA017.aspx%7CBack%20to Thank you! A week ago I ordered this on...

Re: Starting problem
Thank you all. Of course I tried the rod in the center. I can push it to the ground, but nothing happens. As @philthehill recommended I tried to adjust it from inside behind the glove box: no effect. That thing has finished, I‘ll buy a new one

Re: Starting problem
You will see the burns on the contacts, from each time you short them. Screwdriver will show signs of burning, too. I just mean the bolts outside, no problem then. https://www.morrisminorspares.com/electrical-c54/electrical-switches-charging-c56/pull-type-starter-solenoid-switch-1948-64-lucas-3h949...

Re: Starting problem
Hi all, instead of opening a new thread, I take this one for a similar problem: from one to the other day the pull starter switch of my 1957 Milly doesn't work anymore. I can pull it, it goes back into its correct position, but it doesn't start the starter motor. Before deinstalling and dismantling ...

Re: Engine side covers
Hi all,
my Milly is on the road again – after nine years, yeah. But after the first long distance trip those covers are leaking. I'm not sure, if these are the concave or the convex ones. Can anybody help me, please?
Thanks, Frank

Re: Front wing replacement
It is the same piping - but a shorter length is required for the front. Front wing piping was only fitted on Series MM and early Series 11 cars. Not Minor 1000s. The factory started simply using a caulking sealant for the front wing seam instead. No reason why you can't use a length of wing piping ...

Re: Front wing replacement
I am also in the process of fitting my Heritage wings to my van and undecided on what material to use to seal the small gaps between the fixings between inner wing and flange? Seam seal, putty or body filler please? I've got the same question. There ist a front wing piping in Moss' catalogue, but i...

Re: Two wires left in the engine compartment
The white cable is the live feed to the fuel pump. If it is not required it should be fully insulated. The red circled earth wire should be affixed under the head of the fuel pump mounting bolt. The mounting bolt is screwed from the inner face of the battery tray into the base of the pump. The un-c...

Re: Two wires left in the engine compartment
You can get a Heritage certificate from the Gaydon museum which will tell you the original engine number Thanks! You should check, for safety's sake, that the white wire is not "live" when the ignition is on because that is the supply to the original electric pump  I know. I wonder ...

Re: Two wires left in the engine compartment
If your former engine had a mechanical pump, that engine, in my opinion, would have come from an Austin minor van, or possibly a 950 Minor. I’m pretty sure I’m right in saying It’s the Austin 1098 engine version (or 950 Minor) that has the opening, covered by a plate, for a mechanical pump, whereas...

Re: Two wires left in the engine compartment
You either have a non original engine or ... The actual engine is not original. But I think the former one was, and that had the mechanical pump on it. I know somewhere I should find a list where I can compare numbers of engines and chassis which belong together. Is that list available on the inter...

Two wires left in the engine compartment
Hi all, after two years of restauration I reinstalled the engine of my Milly. Unfortunately I got two wires left and have forgotten what they are for. Can anybody help me, please? It's in that place where other Morris Minors have their fuel pump. But Milly never had an electrical pump, ist's a mecha...

Thanks for that interesting link! Sorry, I have to ask: You mean this is the nipple for grease? It is flat on the top, the grease nipples at the suspension i.e. are round.philthehill wrote: ↑Sat Dec 19, 2020 11:08 am For the type of nipple fitted to the rack you need a grease gun.

Re: Steering rack grease nipple photo
The original type lubrication gun supplied with the car, is shown in your picture. They are often missing from the toolkit but are readily available. As you say, it is very difficult to know how much oil has actually reached the inside of the rack - or how much was in there to begin with. I tend to...
