My particular thoughts were, I wanted a vehicle to last me out, with no more work as such. Needing no tax or mot, I viewed it as a good standby if a regular vehic...

Re: Floor & Sill Costs

Looking at those pictures, the reality is a new floor pan with cills and crossmember including the spring hangers, big work I know. If you currently have lap belts, then check they are legal. I thought the 3 point type was required, I could be wrong, look it up. ——- and if they are painful for you, change them !

Re: Gearboxes

Thanks Phil for posting that chart. One more query please. Am I right in saying each input shaft is obliged to use the parts listed under its column ? As I’m presuming the input shaft dictates what laygear is used consequently the appropriate gears ?

Gearboxes

Some years ago, maybe ten or so, I rebuilt two gearboxes, they have been stored ever since. I’m sure one has Midget internals, the shaft has 22G 299, which I think suggests this. The other is stamped 22G 172. Probably a standard 1098. I would like conformation of these boxes please. So much water pa...

Re: Would you choose Lucas parts?

Maybe Lucas isn’t Lucas as such anymore, I don’t know if you were having troubles before you fitted those service items, if you were not, remember——- if it’s not broke, don’t fix it !

How Mike posts is up to him, however as he is the only one who prefers posting in bold text, I can understand someone asking why. Which is what Mary has now done :D. The question may have been asked before, I can’t remember.
