Convertable Moggie stolen
Hi all, I was made aware of this post and being a fellow Moggie owner I wanted to make people aware, please share this link and I hope this lovely example of a convertable Moggie makes it home safe and sound to its owner: The number plate is EDV484D https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=101559...

Re: Engine runs on
Possibly, apart from the gauge (which I am in the process of wiring in) is there way to tell for optimum coolant flow through the engine?
Many thanks,
Tom

Re: Engine runs on
Hi all,
Thank you for the advice, for the record the steam comes from the radiator overflow pipe when the engine is stopped (The green pipe that runs down the side of the radiator out the bottom of the engine bay). I will check the spark plugs and post back
Cheers,
Tom

Re: Engine runs on
It appears that I may of been a bit quick to think that this issue was gone. Could I get some advise about the different spark plugs some of you are recommending? I will check what plugs I have presently however is it possible that I have too 'hot' plugs? Would this also cause excessive engine heat ...

New complete door locks
To the good and helpful people of the MMOC, I am needing to replace the locks on my 1968 traveller. I am thinking to keep the number of keys to a minimum I'll have to replace all the locks. I'm not sure the best place to acquire locks or whether I can use the existing locks. Any advice or methods to...

Re: HS2 carbs
I hope this helps and I'll throw in my 2 cents, it was recommended to me to polish the inside of the Piston Unit to give a really smooth operation when the piston moves inside its housing. After doing this I found it made a surprising difference. What grade of oil are you using in your oil well? Che...

Re: Voltage stabiliser query
After a lot of failed attempts I've finally caved in and found a second hand stabiliser online. Thank you all for your suggests, annoying that this part seems to have such a certain eventual failure. But hey, problem solved! All dials now... working

Re: Fuel tank outlet leaking
Hi all,
Many thanks for all of your suggestion, after closer examination it does (annoyingly!) look like the pipe inside the tank is misaligned to the copper exit pipe. Now I have to hope for a dry day and spend a long time getting that pipe aligned!
Thank you all,
Tom

Fuel tank outlet leaking
Hi all,
I've come across a rather irritating problem, my outlet pipe on the fuel tank is leaking fuel. To the best of my belief I think its leaking from the pipe behind the locking nut, possibily the flange. Can anyone recommend a course of action for this issue?
Many thanks in advance,
Tom

Re: Voltage stabiliser query
Thank you all for the helpful advice. I'm always loath to acquire new parts when old ones have a chance of being salvaged. If the stabiliser does prove to be a duff is there a way to fix this device, I don't hold out too much hope as it seems like a single contained unit but you never know! I...

Re: Voltage stabiliser query
Thank you everyone for your swift replies, I will try the method you suggest to test a duff stabiliser. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one to experience a stabiliser issue. What would be the cause of a stabiliser malfunctioning?
Many thanks,
Tom

Voltage stabiliser query
To the good and noble people of the MMOC, I appear to have an interesting problem with my voltage stabiliser. I have been having problems with my fuel guage for a while now and I believe I have traced it to the voltage stabiliser. When I send a current through the stabiliser without it being earthed...

Best way to tackle underside rust
To the good and noble people of the MMOC, I went under my 1968 traveller for a completely unrelated issue and found a spot of rust developing in the underside of the rear section near the boot compartment (please see pics). Before this develops into a big issue I was hoping to catch it early, what w...

Re: Engine runs on
Thank you all for your replies, after a couple of days of tweaking lots of little things (mixture, static timing, changing plugs) she has stopped running on. I will put this one down to a combination of things together causing this issue. All back to normal!! Once again thanks for every suggestion :...

Engine runs on
Hi all, I have a small issue with my 1968 traveller. There are occasions when having turned off the ignition the engine continues to run on, could I ask the possible reasons this might happen? This usually happens when having had her run for roughly 10 min + Any help connected to this issue would be...

Re: Fuel sender- 65 van
Hi mowogg, Ahh yes I see what you mean, that electrical circuitry is indeed exposed to the inside of the tank and thus the fuel. Mine doesn't contain a gasket or any seals, I will have a look at a spare I have nocking around but I would put my 2 cents on that "compartment" not being sealed...

Re: Fuel sender- 65 van
Hi mowogg, On my 1968 traveller I have a gasket that fits between the sender housing and the fuel tank, this stops any fuel sloshing out from that gap. If your question is that the part of the sender that is inside the tank needs any seals then it doesn't, on mine all the sender mechanism is exposed...
