Hi guys
How do I know if fuel is getting to the plugs? Pump is clicking to fill up the bowl!
Took the plugs out and expected them to be obviously wet, but they seemed dry to me. Please help I'm not sure how wet they should appear. Thanks. Dan

Re: So why won't it start
I have taken the distributor off. I'll strip and clean it refit it and work back from the plugs. Having not run in years and sad idle a removal and clean won't hurt. Hopefully at some point over the next few days I'll be reporting back with something positive.

Re: So why won't it start
Yeah I have drained the old petrol and filled with new.
I have made new battery terminals so there's no problem there. Only thing I haven't done is clean the gear box earthing lead.
Had new fuel pipe and the fuel pump clicked away nicely until the carb bowel was filled.
I'll have to check for a spark

Fuel line to fuel pump!!
Hi apologies for clogging up the forum So the minor 1000 I bought a couple of weeks ago has had the fuel line cut about 8 inch back from the fuel pump where I assume it would have originally have screwed up. Instead there is a flexible braided hose with jubilee clips at each end. Is this a common &q...

Re: breather pipe from air cleaner to engine
There is no pressure in an inlet manifold only a depression. Unless you are lucky enough to have a supercharger fitted. What you have fitted is acceptable but a piece of reinforced servo vacuum pipe with two Jubilee clips to restrain the pipe would be better than the piece of yellow pipe cur...

On the manifold? Really?philthehill wrote:The pipe with the bolt in is where the PCD valve originally fitted.
So I'll be best of re fitting something to alleviate a build up in pressure, so a mushroom valve would do?
