I wonder if any of the four-door Minor saloons used by Customs and Excise at Gatwick Airport survive?
Here are BML245H and what I think is BML243H.
They had a roof flashing light and must have had a radio setup too.
Cheers, Tom.

Marina 1275 timing chain tensioner
I have a Marina 1275cc "A" (not A+) engine in my van. Does this engine have a timing chain tensioner? Thanks

Van wheel?
I have been given a wheel which reportedly came from a Morris Minor 8 cwt van many years ago. It is marked LP806AW 4 1/2 J.
I can't find this number referenced anywhere. Anyone know anything about it?
Thanks, Tom

Hazard flashers
I have a push-pull Hella switch with three spade connectors on the reverse. I would like to fit hazard flashers to my 1971 van and wonder if anyone has done so and could supply a wiring diagram. I know various kits are available but I wondered if I could use the Hella switch.
Thanks
Tom

Re: 1275cc upgrade to 1971 Minor van
Well, the Marina A 1275 is finally in and running. Some questions for the brains out there. 1. To get the timing correct, the vacuum piece on my new Accuspark 45D4 electronic dizzy need to be so far anticlockwise that the edge of the vacuum unit needs to be about 1cm inside the oil filter! Temporari...

Re: Marina 1.3 oil pressure take off
Chaps I have the same problem as mentioned originally but can't seem to solve the problem so easily as suggested. I have the 1300 Marina block and I want to use my oil pressure guage and oil pressure warning light switch. I used a T piece on my original 1098 with no problem as there is plenty of roo...

Re: 1275cc upgrade to 1971 Minor van
Gents Not much done on the 1275 recently but I am back in the groove again with some more questions for the "ones who have done it all before!". My HIF6 carb is from a 1700 Ital, it will be mated to an in/out combined manifold from a MG Metro. Sadly I do not have the appropriate abutment p...

Re: 1275cc upgrade to 1971 Minor van
Thanks again Phil One of the engine mount bolt holes went right through so that is now blocked, the others were blind. The flywheel is from a 1275 MG Midget. Next to the block it has the metal cut away to lighten it. I have a brand new 1098 clutch to use unless I need a clutch from a 1275. As regard...

Re: 1275cc upgrade to 1971 Minor van
Gents As I gradually get my head around the various bits and bobs, I wonder what the unused bolts were for on the Marina "A" block. See attached. Also, do I need a clutch from a 1275 or is my new 1098 clutch going to be OK? Thanks Tom[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1472830560_28...

Here is a picture of the MG Metro big valve head.
I cant see how to add more than a single picture with each message so another shot will be posted separately.

Re: 1275cc upgrade to 1971 Minor van
Thanks Phil,
I have asked the seller to call me. I don't know yet if I have been stitched up. The seller even misidentified the carb as an Hif 44 instead of an Hif 6. I am now wondering if the "MG Metro" big valve head with it is really that after all.
Cheers

Re: 1275cc upgrade to 1971 Minor van
Gents
thanks for your help, I am beginning to think that I was mis-sold the block as an A+ when it is actually an A.
See attached shots. What are the differences?
Thanks

Re: 1275cc upgrade to 1971 Minor van
Thanks for your help, the flywheel has 6 bolts.
My block doesn't have the one hole plus Y clamp dizzy connection. It looks the same as my 1098 Minor so I think the Minor 25D or 45D dizzy will fit.
