Re: Hesitation

Have now cured the hesitation. I had a look at the oil level in the dashpot and it seemed ok. I took the car to a friends garage to check on the emissions with the MOT machine and it recorded that the car was running at twice the emissions that it should be. I examined the mixture adjustment and fou...

Hesitation

I am experiencing a hesitation sometimes in the running of my engine. The car is a 1968 traveller fitted with electronic ignition and an alternator. I gave the car a service changing the plugs, dizzy cap and leads but the hesitation is still there. The car starts first time and runs very well apart ...

Re: Sale of Logbooks

Over the last few years if I see a log book for sale I report it to ebay and eventually some of them are taken off. We all know what the old log books will eventually be used for. E bay has now banned me from reporting them. Its going to be much easier to clone a stolen minor now.

Re: Which seat base?

Yes really ! My Panda still has the original rubber diaphragms on the front seats. I know they are the original ones as I drove this car brand new out of Surbiton police station in April 1968 as a serving police officer. They were probably made of better material in those days.

Re: Which seat base?

All met Morris Minor Pandas were fitted with the rubber diaphragm to take account of large bums. I never knew of any failures and they did take a lot of punishment.

Re: Quality tools

My King Dick ring spanners were bought to maintain my Norman Auto cycle the fore runner of the Moped powered by a Villiers 98cc two stroke engine. You started it by pedalling like crazy until it fired then off you went at lightning speed !!!

Quality tools

At the age of 16 I purchased a set of King Dick ring spanners. Now at the age of 80 they are still giving sterling service. If you buy the best they will last a lifetime.

Re: Ex-Police Equipment

It was completely by chance looking through car and classic on the internet and there it was, luckily the person selling it had shown the registration number on the photo so I knew it was mine. ELB is certainly a met panda number. If you want any help with the correct signage and equipment I will tr...

This one is mine. An ex metropolitan police panda which is correct. I should know as its the actual car that I drove brand new out of Surbiton police station in April 1968 as a very young police officer.

It all depends on which force it belonged to. Different forces had different equipment and paint. Best find out which force it came from first.
