Re: Traveller Timbers Reconditioned Cars

Ah yes, I remember you! So, you're thinking of pressing the button now then? Excellent, you could do a lot (in fact a HELL of a lot) worse than Traveller TImbers.

Re: Traveller Timbers Reconditioned Cars

My Traveller is there now, being sanded down and revarnished. He fitted my wood eight years ago, and has had it back for revarnishing a couple of times since (didn't really need it, I just wanted to be sure!) and he used to look after my old Traveller too. Very much a thumbs up from me

Re: So what do YOU want from the MMOC website?

Firstly the actions that you said you'd like to implement would quite reasonably come under the heading of zero tolerance, so I don't think I was putting words into your mouth, just giving your intentions a 'Heading' so to speak. Regarding what I would like-------Leave things alone, the forum rubs ...

Re: So what do YOU want from the MMOC website?

Oh seriously! Irmcher, you're massively mistaken - I am 'just' another member exactly the same as you. Where on earth do you get this rubbish about "little bit of power" from? Despite what les is (intentionally or otherwise) suggesting, I haven't said I'd "remove anyone from the site&...

POM, I genuinely don't know, but I'd guess that info would be held at Derby? Give the office a ring?

Re: So what do YOU want from the MMOC website?

I'm disappointed you read my words as arrogant Les, but obviously its your prerogative to do so :( What I intended to convey was my overriding sentiment that, on the rare occasions that an 'MMOC-bash' occurs, it seems to me that the same names usually appear. That is entirely subjective, of course, ...

Re: So what do YOU want from the MMOC website?

Hi Millerman I guess that the club could afford a paid webmaster yes, but I'm not totally sure I'd agree with the idea - with the size of membership we have, there's bound to be one of everyone in there, so I'd personally want to try and exploit the goodwill of a member with the necessary skills bef...

Re: So what do YOU want from the MMOC website?

Did you not feel your ears burning when you read that post Irmscher? Seriously, have you any idea about how you come across on the board, as so consistently critical, your incessant jibes and veiled references to this 'clique' you believe exists? Have you ever thought about having a day off? And tak...

Re: So what do YOU want from the MMOC website?

Bloody hell, doesn't time fly 8) . Well, having made the anniversary I guess its an opportune time to at least update on what's going on. I started the thread after a conversation with Ray. I can't really go into any detail on that because I've not asked permission from those involved and it wouldn'...

Re: So what do YOU want from the MMOC website?

As I never tire of saying Irmscher, I am an extraordinarily lucky man in having dozens of very good friends in the MMOC.

The new site also needs a Like button, a la Facebook. So I can like the post above (but I think you missed out the word 'never' in the first sentence!)

Re: insurance pay out

You can, yes, but you embrace all the risk that that entails. The traders at any auction have access to a price guide that Mr Punter doesn't, and they are - if they're to stay in business any length of time - more 'seasoned' to such sales platforms and better able to spot the inevitable lemons that ...

Re: insurance pay out

The figure offered by someone like WeBuyAnyCar will almost definitely be touted by an insurance company settling a loss, but only because most people don't know any better. Let's take my wife's modern as an example, which has a current forecourt retail value of £11,900, according to the guides. The ...

Re: location

The idea of a limit of guest posts before you're requested/chided/forced to become a fully-fledged MMOC member has come up before, but it suffers from one - pretty insurmountable - hurdle. If Fred@gmail.com doesn't actually WANT to join the club, when he gets his email saying 'time up' what's to sto...

Re: So what do YOU want from the MMOC website?

2 more lovely minors have been nicked in the past 2 weeks. So when will we have a "before you buy your minor" column highlighting diskloks etc? People are only taking notice of proper security when they get nicked. So how about it? I think its a great idea, and a section of the web...

Re: So what do YOU want from the MMOC website?

Superb and comprehensive reply Ray, thank you for that. For the avoidance of doubt, the work that will be being performed for the site is, as far as I understand it, confined to the 'mechanics' and layout of the site, rather than its policies and procedures. I am not minded to believe it to be a 'ro...
