Re: EXHAUST TO MANIFOLD PROBLEMS
Thanks for that. Unable to wiggle the manifold into the exhaust since it's already bolted on, exhaust also bolted up tight so next to no movement in either. Is it best I do the following : Take manifold back off then wiggle (if possible) into the exhaust, clamp up with suggested clamp, then bolt man...

EXHAUST TO MANIFOLD PROBLEMS
Had to replace the exhaust manifold gasket on my 1967 2 door. On seperating manifold from the exhaust it came off with a slight struggle but nothing major. However, after changing the gasket I'm having problems getting a good seal between the manifold and exhaust with the result the exhaust blows at...

Re: DOOR MIRROR REPLACEMENT GLASS
That was the puzzling thing.
No sign of any adhesives, only round full size thin foam inserts behind the glass.
I'm assuming the outer edge of the chrome was pressed slightly inwards and held the glass in place.

DOOR MIRROR REPLACEMENT GLASS
Just took the cover off the car and for no reason the passenger door mirror glass fell out and smashed, mirror head still tight and secure. Had a look online for just the glass without success, mirror head is perfect hence seems a waste having to buy the complete head. Anyone know if you can just bu...

Good afternoon, Hope nobody minds me making this post since it's not Minor related. I'm the proud owner of a Morris Minor but my son has bought and imported a 1950 Plymouth Super Deluxe from the states. A nice big cruising car but I need a little help. The car runs on 6 volt (positive) and has the b...

Re: REAR BUMPER/VALANCE BOLT REMOVAL
As much as the bolts/nuts are pretty rusty their still very solid. After a couple of thuds with the hammer and chisel they were not going to give in easily, the thought of doing them all ??????????? So, I've taken the easy way out, loads of elbow grease with steel wool has made them much more presen...

REAR BUMPER BOLT REMOVAL - SORTED
Was stripping down the rear bumper which is off the car. The chrome bolts which hold the chrome bumper valance in place were pretty rusty so thought would change them. However when you turn the nut on any of the bolts, the whole bolt spins as well with the nut. Not helped by the bolts and nuts being...

Re: FUEL PUMP ???????
I should have also said.
When switching on ignition, pumps clicks away furiously then settles to a click every 9-10 secs.
On starting it clicks to a steady 2-3 secs.
Is this an SU type pump ?
Cheers

FUEL PUMP ???????
I'm still new to Minors so bear with me. A couple of months ago the Morris (1966) suddenly cut out/shuddered and free wheeled to a stop. It felt like fuel starvation with the ignition light on as soon as it cut out. After an unsuccesful restart I pulled out the choke and hey presto off it went. I ch...

Pulled the pressure switch wire off and attached to body earth, switched ignition on and light illuminated and stayed on.
Will order a new switch and hopefully this will sort it out.

Re: HELP PLEASE
Spoke to soon. The amber light STAYS ON on all the time, the car is running fine and has oil etc. I've limited electrical knowledge but to get the light to illuminate I ran an additional earth wire from the bulb holder earth connection (I reckon) to a nut on the back of the speedo and hey presto the...

Re: HELP PLEASE
Fuses are fine.
Funny you should mention the speedo, it died for about 30 secs then kicked in.
I'll try the earth cable.
