wheel brake cylinder bolt size
:) I took mungo for his mot last week and he sailed through with the exception that the tester said there was a wheel brake cylinder bolt missing. I replaced all the wheel cylinders and pipes last year so the bolt must have dropped out or I forgot to put it in, therefore can anyone tell me the size/...

( MM Oldbury parts manual Nos 34 35 36-------19 of the gearbox exploded drawing) in other words will it be alright to take the gear leaver out and not lose the ball inside the cha...

Re: solar charger
sorry forgot to say my car is always garaged when not in use so I thought I could fix the charger to the roof of the garage or the side of the garage and put the leads through and inside the garage.

lght switch knob
:o hi all, I am trying to locate from somewhere a headlight / sidelight switch knob. the piece that goes on the end of the switch. Mine crumbled due to age I think, and I don't want to replace the switch just the knob with the letter L on the end. I know I can get a replacement switch from MM spares...

Re: could it be the dynamo
:D :D :D hi all, after your suggestions and the process of elimination, I have finally found the solution. the last thing that I tried was the starter motor, if I left the connection off, the battery held it's charge, but when it was connected the battery went flat, so I gave the connection a good c...

Re: could it be the dynamo
:o hiya bm, Yes when I put anything on it shows a very very small discharge but otherwise when I am driving along the needle hardly moves a at all , it more than likely stays in the middle of the gauge showing nothing. But having said all that I think I have found the problem and that is the commuta...

Re: could it be the dynamo
everything as you have put is ok even the ignition light goes out when I start the car after first charging the battery. The only extra thing that is on the car is indicators to go with the trafficators and an ampmeter which incidently doesn't do a lot when the engine is running, it hardly moves exc...

Next morning started...

push button radio
:) :) I have a Unipart push button radio that I am thinking of positioning under the parcel shelf of Mungo. I just need some advice on the connections as I am not very electrically minded when it comes to old cars. On the back of the radio is the obvious aerial connection, and then there is a black ...

'56 heater
my '56 splitty has a round heater that sits on the parcel shelf and even when it's switched off it radiates enough heat to warrant the windows to be wound down. I want to take it out and overhaul/inspect it and still want to drive the car, therefore would it be possible to disconnect the hose from t...

Re: 1955 Split Screen
hi there, I have just gone through my records which I printed off the potteries website IE potteries.mmoc.org.uk and from oct 1954 through to sept' 1956 it says that the colour is sandy beige with a maroon trim and maroon carpets. if you want to verify, just go to the potteries website. I hope this ...

i have mot's from 1993 with the uod reg' when I bought the car the then owner had aquired it for it's registration to sell on and subsequently had an age related plate issued by the dvla which is now on the car, the mystery deepen but i will eventually get to the bottom of it.
